Netflix keeps viewing activity separately for each profile, so deleting Netflix viewing history starts with the profile that watched the title. The current Netflix route is to hide items from Viewing activity, with separate controls for Continue Watching, profile deletion, and account deletion. Start with one title, then use the broader options only when you want to remove more.
Hide one title from your Netflix viewing history
Use a web browser for the cleanest Netflix viewing history fix. Open Netflix, go to Account, open Profiles, choose the profile, then select Viewing activity.
On the Watching page, click the hide icon next to the movie, show, or episode. Netflix says the change can take up to 24 hours to disappear on all devices.
If this method fails, switch to a regular profile instead of a Netflix Kids profile and run the same path again in a web browser.
Remove a whole series at once
For a show with multiple episodes, open Netflix in a web browser and go to Account, then Profiles. Choose the profile and open Viewing activity.
On the Watching page, click the hide icon next to one episode. When Netflix prompts you, choose the option to hide the entire series.
The series can take up to 24 hours to disappear on all devices, so check again after that window.
Clear all viewing history for a profile
Open Netflix in a web browser.
Go to Account.
Open Profiles.
Choose the profile you want to clear.
Select Viewing activity.
Scroll to the bottom of the Watching page.
Select Hide all.
Confirm the change.
Use Hide all only on the profile you mean to clear.
Remove something from Continue Watching
This fixes the Continue Watching row, not the full Viewing activity record.
On a computer, place your cursor over the title in Continue Watching.
Select Remove From Row.
On a TV, open the details page for the show or movie in Continue Watching.
Select Remove from Continue Watching from the menu.
On an Android phone or tablet, iPhone, or iPad with the latest Netflix app, tap Menu for the title in Continue Watching.
Tap Remove From Row.
Delete a Netflix profile to erase its history
Deleting a profile removes that profile's viewing history and game saves. This only works for non-main profiles, because the main profile cannot be deleted.
On the web, open Manage Profiles, choose the profile, select the Edit icon, and choose Delete Profile. On a TV or streaming device, use the profile selection screen, choose the profile, select the Edit icon, and choose Delete Profile.
In the Netflix mobile app, open My Netflix, tap the profile name, open Manage Profiles, choose the profile, tap the Edit icon, and select Delete Profile.
If this method fails, return to Viewing activity and hide titles instead; Netflix does not allow the main profile to be deleted.
Delete the whole Netflix account
This fixes account-level removal; for an active membership, Netflix deletes the account at the end of the current billing period unless you are eligible for earlier deletion or request it.
In a web browser, go to Account.
Open Security.
Select Delete account.
Complete the Security Check.
Check the confirmation box.
Select Permanently Delete.
Use the app, game app, or email for account deletion
Open the Netflix app.
Go to My Netflix.
Tap the profile name.
Open Account.
Under Settings, select Delete account.
Complete the Security Check.
Check the confirmation box.
Tap Permanently Delete.
In a Netflix game app, open the Profile icon.
Open Account.
Under Settings, select Delete account.
Complete the Security Check.
Check the confirmation box.
Select Permanently Delete.
After canceling, send an account deletion request to [email protected] from the email address used to sign in.
Canceled accounts are automatically deleted after 24 months, so use email when you want the deleted account handled sooner.
Skip fixes that do not delete Netflix viewing activity
Clearing browser history, clearing app cache, reinstalling Netflix, changing smart TV settings, using hardware buttons, using keyboard shortcuts, using voice assistants, or using AI assistants does not delete server-side Viewing activity. Those actions deal with local data, sign-in, downloads, or playback.
Netflix's current viewing-history control is Account, Profiles, Viewing activity, then the hide icon on the Watching page. For row cleanup only, use Continue Watching and Remove From Row or Remove from Continue Watching.
