Accuracy is the foundation of reader trust. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so.
When an error is reported or discovered, we verify it, correct the article, and update its last-modified date. Substantive corrections that change the meaning of a story are fixed directly in the text rather than left to stand. Minor fixes, such as typos or formatting, are made without further notice.
Because technology changes fast, we also revisit and update guides when software updates or new hardware make older steps inaccurate. Every article displays the date it was last updated.
