Trying to create a DoorDash account gets confusing when you land on a Dasher or merchant signup page. To register for ordering food, start with the customer website or consumer app and choose an email or social account option. Keep a phone that receives text messages nearby, because signup includes phone verification.
Start with the consumer signup page
Starting on a Dasher or merchant registration page puts you in the wrong signup flow for ordering food.
Open doordash.com in your desktop or mobile browser.
Select Sign Up at the top of the page to open consumer registration. No app installation is required.
The website signup route works in both desktop and mobile browsers. If you want to register on your phone without installing the consumer app, use the website in your mobile browser.
Choose email registration or continue with a Google, Facebook, or Apple account using the options below. Complete any additional DoorDash registration prompts along your chosen route.
Create your account with email
Use the email option on DoorDash’s consumer authentication screen.
Select Sign Up to enter registration.
Choose the option to continue with email.
Complete the registration prompts with your information.
Enter the six-digit code sent to your phone when prompted.
Keep access to your SMS messages while completing email registration. Choosing email still requires phone verification, and the signup code cannot be sent to your email address.
Use Google, Facebook, or Apple instead
Choose a provider for which you have an account. The Google route requires a Google account, the Facebook route requires a Facebook account, and the Apple route requires an Apple Account.
For a Google account, select Continue with Google on DoorDash’s consumer authentication screen.
Complete Google’s authentication prompts, followed by any DoorDash registration prompts.
For Facebook, select Continue with Facebook. DoorDash still offers this signup option.

Get past the phone verification screen
Phone verification is part of account creation, regardless of which signup option you choose. This step requires a number that receives SMS messages; landlines do not work.
Enter the six-digit code sent to your phone when DoorDash prompts you.
If the message has not arrived while you are signing up in the app, wait one minute.
Then tap Resend Code.
Use an SMS-capable phone number to finish verification. DoorDash does not offer email delivery for this signup code.
Sign up through the DoorDash app
Account creation is also available in the official consumer app on iPhone and compatible Android devices.
Open the official listing for DoorDash: Food, Grocery, More in the App Store or Google Play. On iPhone, check that the publisher is DoorDash, Inc.
The iPhone app requires iOS 18.0 or later. You can also use the consumer website to create an account in a browser without installing the app.
Install the app. On Android, select Install on its Google Play listing.
Open DoorDash and follow the account-creation prompts.
Complete phone verification by entering the six-digit code sent by text message.
Join through an employer invitation
If your employer has invited you to a participating DoorDash for Business team, open the employer-benefits invitation email. Select the email’s link to join your company’s team to begin the invitation route.
Follow the registration or sign-in route allowed by your employer. Depending on the employer’s configuration, you may register using a work email address or sign in with an existing personal account.
If the invitation is missing, sign in to DoorDash in a desktop browser with the email address your employer specified, or create an account with it, and then visit https://www.doordash.com/teams/join to join your team directly.
