INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 Review, a Compact 45W Power Bank Built for the Trail
The INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 packs 45W USB-C charging, IP67 protection and a three-mode light into a compact silicone-armored body that feels great in the hand.
Pick up the INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 and the appeal is obvious before you've charged anything. The silicone armor has a soft, grippy texture that feels expensive, the body sits comfortably in your palm, and the whole thing has the dense, solid feel of something made to last. Power banks don't usually make much of an impression, but this one does.

Mine is the Ranger Green version, and I've been charging my iPhone 17 Pro with it. You get strong 45W USB-C output, IP67 protection and a built-in flashlight, with a carabiner and cable in the box. It's not the biggest battery you can buy, and the two ports share far less power when you use them together, but for day trips and small bags, this is the one I'd grab.
The Rugged 10000 (model RG10000) is the first product from INIU Outdoor, the brand's new adventure line. It fits 10,000mAh into a 6.9 oz body with two USB-C ports, up to 45W of output, a three-mode light and a 1/4-inch thread for mounting. INIU sells it for $54.99 in six colors, and Amazon had it for $59.99 in black and green camo at the time of writing.
IP67 dust and water protection with the port cover closed
Drop-tested from 3.9 ft (1.2 m) to MIL-STD-810G 516.6

Pros
The silicone texture and build feel premium and tough
Compact enough for small bags and easy to clip on
Fast 45W charging for its size
Low-current mode looks after small devices
The flashlight is genuinely handy
Carabiner, D-ring screw and USB-C cable all come in the box
Cons
Output drops to 15W total when both ports are in use
45W can't reach the top speed of phones built for 60W
Who it's for
Hikers, campers, cyclists and anyone who wants a small backup battery that can live on the outside of a bag without much worry. It also makes sense for travelers and commuters who simply like the size and the build, and for anyone carrying small gear like a headlamp, GPS or earbuds alongside a phone.

You need several full phone charges or you want to power a laptop for long stretches. Our picks for the best high capacity power banks and power banks for laptops are a better place to start. INIU's own Rugged 20000 is also worth a look for multi-day trips, with twice the capacity and 65W output. If you never leave the city, you can save money with a regular power bank.
Small Enough for Any Bag
The size is what sold me. At 3.6 x 2.3 x 1.1 inches, it sits inside my palm and slips easily into a small bag, and the rounded edges make it comfortable to hold. It's chunkier than a slim everyday power bank, and at 6.9 oz (195.7 g) it has some weight to it, but that's the armor you're paying for.
It sits comfortably in the palm of my hand.
That armor is the best thing about it. The soft-touch silicone wraps around the whole body, and the front has a fine textured panel. You can feel the build quality as soon as you pick it up. INIU says the silicone also helps protect your phone or camera from scratches in a pack, which makes sense given how soft it is.

Built for Bad Weather
INIU rates the Rugged 10000 at IP67, which covers full dust protection and up to 30 minutes in 3.3 ft (1 m) of water with the port cover securely closed. It's also drop-tested from 3.9 ft (1.2 m) to MIL-STD-810G 516.6. I didn't run my own dunk or drop tests, so those are INIU's numbers, but nothing about how it's built gives me a reason to doubt them. It also comes with a five-year warranty, which is generous for a power bank.

The one thing to remember is that the protection depends on that cover. It's a flap with a pull tab marked OPEN, and once it's open with a cable plugged in, you shouldn't count on the water rating. Top up under your jacket or in the tent, not out in the rain.
45W Goes a Long Way, Up to a Point
Under the cover are two USB-C ports, and either one can put out up to 45W over PD 3.0. That's a lot from a battery this small. On my iPhone 17 Pro it charged quickly and delivered what I'd expect for its wattage. INIU claims 63% in 30 minutes on that phone, and it felt plenty fast in everyday use.
Two USB-C ports sit under the cover, next to the light.
Newer phones are where you'll notice the limit. Apple's fastest wired charging on the iPhone 18 Pro models calls for a 60W-capable adapter, so a 45W bank won't give you their full potential. They'll still charge, just not at their top speed. The same goes for any device that wants more than 45W.
The bigger catch is using both ports at once. Plug in two devices and the output falls to 7.5W per port, or 15W in total. That's fine for a watch and a pair of earbuds, but it's slow for two phones. Recharging the bank itself tops out at 20W, either from a wall charger or from INIU's solar panel, which is sold separately.
As for capacity, 10,000mAh is the cell rating. INIU lists the rated capacity as 6,000mAh at 5V and quotes 1.7 charges for an iPhone 17, so expect fewer on a phone with a bigger battery. It's not the highest capacity out there, but it gets the job done for its size, and it's the right amount for a day out rather than a week off-grid.
Low-current mode is a nice touch I'm glad INIU included. It kicks in automatically for small devices like earbuds, smartwatches and headlamps, so they charge steadily from a bank that's built for much bigger loads.
The Extras Make It
INIU doesn't make you buy anything else to get going. The box includes the carabiner, a D-ring screw and a USB-C to USB-C cable. The D-ring screws into the 1/4-inch thread on the end of the bank, and the carabiner clips on from there, so it hangs neatly from a bag or a tent loop. Take the D-ring out and the same thread fits most tripods.
The D-ring screws into the 1/4-inch thread on the end of the bank.
The short braided cable is clever too. It clips in with the carabiner as a loop, so it stays with the bank rather than getting lost at the bottom of your bag. The trade-off is the length, which means your phone has to stay right next to the bank while it charges. Keep a longer cable with you if you plan to use your phone at the same time.

Then there's the light next to the ports, which has steady white, steady red and flashing red modes. White is useful for finding gear in the dark, red helps preserve your night vision, and the flashing red works as an alert when you need to be seen. It won't replace a proper flashlight on a long night hike, but it's a handy thing to have on a power bank when the sun goes down.

FAQ
Is the INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 waterproof? It's rated IP67 with the port cover closed, which INIU tests at up to 3.3 ft (1 m) of water for 30 minutes. Don't rely on that rating with the cover open.
Can it charge a laptop? It can top up a USB-C laptop that accepts 45W, but with this capacity, don't count on a full charge. It's much better suited to phones, tablets, cameras and small gear.
Can I charge two devices at once? Yes, but the two USB-C ports share 15W in total when used together. For fast charging, stick to one port.
Will it work with an older iPhone? Yes. iPhone 14 and earlier models need a USB-C to Lightning cable, which isn't included.
Can I take it on a plane? INIU lists it as TSA-compliant for carry-on travel. Pack it in your carry-on, not your checked bag.
An Easy One to Keep Clipped to Your Bag
The INIU Outdoor Rugged 10000 is a small, tough battery with a lovely finish, 45W when you need it, a useful light and everything you need in the box. The 15W limit with both ports in use and the 45W ceiling on newer phones are worth knowing about, but neither changes what it's for.
If you spend time outdoors, or you just want a backup battery that feels this well made, I can easily recommend it. It's the kind of essential you pack once and leave in the bag for every trip after that.
