Sony’s XYN spatial capture solution is now available in the United States and Canada, with object scanning and paid subscriptions starting at US $20 a month, including tax. The software turns physical subjects and locations into 3D computer graphics assets, with updates extending its scope to consumer products, vehicles and industrial equipment. Customers can buy subscriptions online by credit card, although availability excludes U.S. territories.

The entry paid plan, Creation 500, costs US $20 or CAD $28.44 monthly and supplies 500 tokens for generating assets. Creation 2000 includes 2,000 monthly tokens for US $67.32 or CAD $95.74, while Creation 2000 + Renderer costs US $209.05 or CAD $297.29 with the same token allocation; those prices include tax. The most expensive option adds the commercial version of XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin, whereas the cheaper plans provide its trial edition.

A free plan includes no monthly tokens, but users can purchase 500 for US $20 or CAD $28.44. It limits XYN Spatial Scan Navi Free to three projects, while paid subscriptions allow unlimited use of XYN Spatial Scan Navi. Each tier provides 15 GB of XYN Spatial Scan storage, and discounts on extra tokens depend on subscription level and purchase volume.

XYN Spatial Scan now uses XYN Venus Algorithm to generate object assets as well as virtual production backgrounds, with controls for selecting the subject’s boundaries, generation quality and color workflow. Sony says the resulting assets can reproduce gloss and transparency for viewing on computers, compatible smartphones and large LED walls. XYN Spatial Scan Navi adds Object: Assist Mode, which helps users define a capture area and keep their distance consistent while moving around a subject.

The smartphone app supports the Pro and Pro Max models of iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17, with Sony listing iOS 18, 26 or later. XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin adds Aximmetry integration alongside support for Unreal Engine and Disguise RendererStream. Sony says splat editing and flicker suppression are available when assets are shown in Unreal Engine, with support for production using either green screens or LED walls.

Sony’s April launch plans focused on converting locations into graphics for professional virtual production, with an initial U.S. audience and a summer release target. That earlier offering centered on studios using LED walls for camera effects and connected capture workflows using Sony Alpha cameras. Sony now also plans to start releasing Lab apps before the end of 2026, allowing creators to try experimental features and algorithms and provide development feedback.
