Ultenic U15 Review: The Cordless Stick Vacuum That Punches Way Above Its Price

We weren't expecting much when the Ultenic U15 showed up. It's a cordless stick vacuum that costs around $115 on Amazon, so our expectations were set somewhere around "adequate." After two weeks of daily cleaning across hardwood, carpet, tile, and under every piece of furniture we own, those expectations got demolished in the best way possible. The suction is powerful. The GreenEye green light reveals dirt you had no idea was there. The 180-degree lay-flat design gets under furniture that our old vacuum couldn't touch. And the build quality feels like it belongs on a machine twice this price.

It's not perfect. The battery and dust cup can be fiddly to clip into place, and the weight might tire you out during longer sessions. But for the money, the Ultenic U15 punches so far above its weight class that it's hard to find a legitimate reason not to recommend it.

Who It's For
Pet owners dealing with daily hair and dander, busy households that need a quick-grab vacuum for daily cleanup, and anyone who wants strong cordless performance without spending $300 or more. If you've been looking for something that actually cleans well on both hard floors and carpet at a price that makes sense, the U15 is built for exactly that. The GreenEye tech makes it especially useful for anyone who wants to see exactly where the dirt is hiding.
Skip if
If you need ultra-light weight for extended ceiling or overhead cleaning, the U15 might tire you out. If you're willing to spend more for a top-tier brand experience with smoother part fitment and longer max-mode battery life, the Dyson V12 or Tineco Pure One are worth considering. But they'll cost you two to three times as much for marginally better performance.
Design and Build Quality
The first thing we noticed pulling the U15 out of the box is that it doesn't feel cheap. At this price point, you expect some corners to be cut, but the plastics are solid, the joints feel sturdy, and the overall fit and finish are well above what the price tag suggests. The champagne gold color gives it a more polished look than the typical black or gray stick vacuums, and it looks right at home standing in a corner or next to a desk.
The self-standing design is one of those features that sounds minor until you use it every day. You can set the vacuum upright anywhere without it tipping over or needing a wall to lean against. Mid-clean, when you need to move a rug, pick something up, or answer the door, just stand it up and walk away. It's a small thing that makes daily use significantly more convenient.
The telescopic pole adjusts to different heights, so whether you're tall or shorter, you can find a comfortable position without hunching. The vacuum converts easily between stick mode and handheld mode with the included attachments, and the crevice tool and motorized brush work well for upholstery, stairs, and tight gaps.
Suction Power and Cleaning Performance
This is where the Ultenic U15 really surprised us. The 60KPa suction across three power levels (eco, standard, and max) handles everything we threw at it. Dust, crumbs, pet hair, tracked-in dirt, cereal spills. On hardwood, it picks up everything in a single pass. On carpet, including medium-pile rugs, the motorized brush head agitates and lifts embedded debris effectively. We ran it over areas we thought were already clean, and the dust bin told a different story.
The tangle-free brush design is a genuine improvement over traditional roller brushes. We have hair wrapping around the brush roller used to be a constant annoyance with our previous vacuum. The U15's cutting mechanism handles long hair and pet fur without clogging. After two weeks of daily use, we haven't needed to manually clean the brush once. That alone saves a surprising amount of time and hassle.
On max mode, the suction is noticeably stronger for deep-cleaning carpets or tackling stubborn messes, but it drains the battery in about 25 minutes. For everyday cleaning, eco mode provides more than enough power and stretches the runtime to a full 65 minutes.
GreenEye Technology
We didn't think a green light on a vacuum would matter. We were wrong. The GreenEye LED system on the brush head illuminates the floor ahead of you and makes dust, fine particles, and pet hair visible that you'd completely miss with bare eyes. On dark hardwood, under furniture, and along baseboards, the difference is dramatic. You can literally see the line between what you've vacuumed and what you haven't.
This is the kind of feature you'd expect on a $400 Dyson, not a $115 Ultenic. It makes cleaning more precise and more satisfying because you can actually see the results in real time. Once you've used it, going back to vacuuming without a dust-detection light feels like guessing.
180-Degree Lay-Flat Design
The 180-degree swivel on the brush head lets the U15 lay completely flat against the floor, which means it slides under sofas, beds, coffee tables, and low shelving that most stick vacuums can't reach. We tested it under a couch with about 3.5 inches of clearance and it glided through without any issue, pulling out dust bunnies and pet hair that had been accumulating for who knows how long.
This was one of our favorite features during testing. The combination of the lay-flat design and the GreenEye light meant we could see and reach dirt in spaces we'd been ignoring for months. The brush head stays flush with the floor even at extreme angles, so suction doesn't drop off when you're cleaning under furniture.
Battery and Charging
The replaceable lithium-ion battery delivers up to 65 minutes on eco mode, which is enough to clean a full-sized home in one session. Standard mode gives you about 45 minutes, and max mode about 25 minutes. For our daily cleaning routine, eco mode handled everything comfortably with battery to spare.
Charging takes about 4 hours from empty to full, which is on the longer side but standard for this category. The battery is removable, which is a nice touch. If you buy a second battery, you can swap in a fresh one and keep going without waiting for a recharge.
One thing worth mentioning: the battery can be a bit tricky to attach and detach. The clip mechanism requires some finesse to line up properly, and if you force it, you risk damaging the connection points. Once you get the hang of the alignment, it becomes second nature, but the first few times can be frustrating. The same applies to reattaching the dust cup after emptying. It needs to be aligned carefully before it clicks into place. These aren't dealbreakers, but they're the kind of small friction points that a slightly refined design could eliminate.
Dust Bin and Filtration
The 1.5-liter dust bin is generously sized for a cordless stick vacuum. We went through multiple cleaning sessions before needing to empty it, which is a big convenience factor. Emptying is done with a one-touch button that opens the bottom of the bin and drops the contents straight into the trash. It's quick and mostly hands-free, though occasionally some debris sticks to the top of the bin chamber and needs a gentle shake or manual clear.
The 6-layer HEPA filtration system captures 99.9% of dust and pollen particles, and the H12-grade filters are washable and reusable. Ultenic includes two filters in the box, so you can rotate between them while one dries after washing. For anyone with allergies or pets, the filtration performance is a genuine benefit at this price point.
Attachments and Versatility
The U15 comes with a solid set of attachments that extend its usefulness well beyond basic floor cleaning. Beyond the main 180-degree floor nozzle, you get a motorized mini brush, a crevice tool, and a 2-in-1 flat brush, plus a flexible hose that lets you reach awkward spots without contorting yourself.
The motorized mini brush is the standout accessory. It's designed for upholstery, mattresses, and fabric surfaces, and it does a genuinely good job of pulling embedded pet hair and dust out of couch cushions and car seats. We used it on our sofa after a week of not vacuuming it and the amount of debris it pulled up was honestly surprising. The small motorized head has its own roller that spins independently, so it's not just relying on suction alone.
The crevice tool handles tight gaps between furniture, along baseboards, and keyboard crevices well. It's slim enough to get into narrow spaces but long enough to reach without awkward bending. The 2-in-1 flat brush works for dusting shelves, blinds, and other surfaces where you want gentle contact with strong suction behind it.
The flexible hose is what ties it all together. When you detach the main tube and connect the hose, the U15 essentially becomes a portable handheld vacuum with reach. We used it for cleaning car interiors, high shelves, and the tops of cabinets. It bends naturally and holds its shape, which makes overhead and angled cleaning much easier than trying to maneuver the full stick assembly.
Ultenic also includes a wall mount in the box for anyone who prefers mounted storage over the self-standing option. Two washable H12 HEPA filters are included as well, so you can rotate between them and always have a clean one ready. It's a thoughtful bundle that covers daily floors, furniture, tight spaces, and above-floor cleaning without needing to buy anything extra.
Weight and Handling
At 6.7 pounds, the U15 is not the lightest cordless vacuum on the market. For quick daily floor cleaning, the weight is fine. The wheels roll smoothly on both hard surfaces and carpet, and the swivel head makes maneuvering around furniture easy. But during extended sessions, especially when using the handheld mode for overhead cleaning or stairs, the weight becomes noticeable. If you're planning to vacuum ceilings, shelves, or car interiors for more than a few minutes at a time, it can tire your arm out. For floor-level cleaning, which is the primary use case, it's perfectly comfortable.

FAQ
How long does the battery last?
Up to 65 minutes in eco mode, about 45 minutes in standard mode, and roughly 25 minutes in max mode. The battery is replaceable, so you can swap in a charged spare for longer sessions.
Does it work well on carpet?
Yes. The motorized tangle-free brush head handles both hard floors and carpet effectively. On carpet, we found standard or max mode works best for pulling up embedded pet hair and debris.
What does the GreenEye green light actually do?
It's an LED light on the brush head that illuminates dust and particles on the floor that are invisible to the naked eye. It makes a real difference on dark floors, under furniture, and along edges where dirt tends to accumulate.
Is it good for pet hair?
Very good. The tangle-free brush design prevents hair from wrapping around the roller, and the strong suction picks up pet hair from both floors and upholstery without issue.
Can it stand on its own?
Yes. The self-standing design lets you set it upright anywhere without it tipping over. No wall mount or dock needed for mid-cleaning pauses.
How loud is it?
About 68 decibels, which is comparable to a normal conversation. Noticeably quieter than a traditional upright vacuum, especially on eco mode.
The Ultenic U15 overdelivered. We went in expecting a budget vacuum that would be fine for light cleaning, and instead we got a genuinely capable cordless stick vacuum with suction that rivals models costing two to three times as much. The GreenEye green light technology, the 180-degree lay-flat design, and the tangle-free brush are features we'd happily pay more for, and getting them all at this price makes the U15 an outstanding value.
The battery and dust cup clip mechanisms could use some refinement, and the weight might not work for everyone during extended handheld sessions. These are honest trade-offs at this price point, not flaws that undermine the product. For the money, the Ultenic U15 does what matters most: it cleans thoroughly, handles pet hair without complaint, reaches places other vacuums can't, and does it all without being tethered to an outlet. If you're tired of overpaying for a cordless vacuum that doesn't deliver, this one will change your mind.
