Wyze has announced the Scale Ultra BodyScan Plus, an eight-electrode smart scale with a 4.3-inch full-color display built into its handle. It goes on sale today at Wyze.com for $149.
The scale builds on the Scale Ultra BodyScan. Both measure the arms, legs and torso separately, but the Plus shows the results on the handle the moment you step on, so you do not need to open the app to see them.
What it measures
Wyze says the scale tracks more than 50 metrics, including weight, BMI, body fat percentage, muscle mass, body water, visceral fat, protein, bone mass and basal metabolic rate. It uses dual-frequency bioelectrical impedance through eight electrodes in the platform and handle, which lets it read the whole body rather than only the legs.
Segment readings show muscle and fat for each arm, each leg and the torso. Wyze pitches this as a way to spot imbalances and track progress in specific areas.
The handle display
The 4.3-inch screen shows the full body composition breakdown, the change since the last weigh-in and trends for key metrics. You can choose which metrics appear and in what order.
Connections
The scale connects over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. With Wi-Fi, readings sync to the Wyze app without the phone nearby, and the scale also works fully offline with the complete readout on the handle. It syncs with Apple Health, Health Connect and Google Health.
Other features
- Recognizes up to eight users, takes one-off readings for guests and can share data with any number of people.
- Baby, Pet and Luggage modes.
- ITO-coated glass top, so there are no metal pads to line your feet up with.
Price and availability
The Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan Plus is available from today at Wyze.com for $149. Every feature in the Wyze app is free, with no subscription tier. It is the first of three launches during Wyze Week, which runs from October 19 to 23.
