Spotify listeners can keep individual tracks, entire playlists and kids and family music from shaping their upcoming Wrapped results using taste profile controls. Ahead of the reveal, Spotify is pointing users toward settings that affect both their retrospective and everyday recommendations, though it has not supplied a launch date.
For tracks and playlists, Spotify says exclusions apply to listening that has already happened as well as future streams. That gives listeners a way to remove the influence of sleep sounds or an unusual selection without limiting the change to what they play from now on. Spotify identifies both as examples of listening that may not represent someone’s broader musical preferences.

To exclude a track or playlist, open its three-dot menu and choose Exclude from your taste profile. The choice can be reversed through Include in your taste profile, which adds the selection back. These exclusions affect recommendations as well as Wrapped, so the setting has consequences beyond the upcoming reveal.
A separate toggle lets listeners decide whether kids and family music contributes to their taste profile. Switching it off prevents those streams from counting toward the top songs and artists in Wrapped, according to Spotify. Listeners can continue searching for that music and playing it after disabling its contribution to their profile.
On mobile, the route to that control starts with the profile picture, followed by Settings and privacy and then Content and display. From there, switch off Include kids and family music in taste profile. Spotify presents this as a way to manage how shared family listening influences recommendations and Wrapped without having to stop that listening.
Personalized recaps have also expanded to other services: OpenAI launched Your Year with ChatGPT on December 22, 2025, with statistics such as chat totals, message counts and busiest days. That experience required saved memories and chat history reference settings to be enabled, making account settings part of eligibility for its review.
Spotify also advises listeners to check their device’s app store for an available Spotify update before Wrapped arrives.
