Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a free update available November 5, 2026, for PS5 and PS5 Pro. Called The Most Requested Update, it adds New Game+ and progression changes, while PS5 Pro owners also receive upgraded PSSR support for sharper visuals and Quality mode running at 60FPS.
Ubisoft’s PlayStation Blog announcement lists two new achievements, an Enhanced Progression Mode option and a revised Power calculation among the additions. The update also includes the Master Assassin Naoe outfit and an Animus Hub synchronization change, alongside its new content and quality-of-life features.
The upgraded PSSR feature is exclusive to PS5 Pro. Ubisoft engineering studio manager Priscilla Nguyen says it improves the appearance of upscaled graphics and supports better frame rates. She describes the result as crisper and more stable than the Temporal Upscaler the game currently uses.
For PS5 Pro players, Ubisoft says the integration improves image quality at 4K while allowing the game’s Quality mode to run at 60FPS. The changes operate through the game engine and rendering pipeline, with Nguyen explaining that the team did not need to rebuild the game’s content or visual assets.
Ubisoft says the work involved balancing image quality and performance in an existing game built before PS5 Pro. According to Nguyen, upgraded PSSR made it possible to improve visuals and performance without extensive content changes.
The visual improvements cover Valhalla’s open world, including Norway’s snowy mountains and England’s meadows, forests and highlands. Ubisoft says its latest PSSR optimizations enhance those environments while preserving their appearance, with a focus on a smooth visual experience.
