Samsung TV Plus will begin K-Wave Wednesdays on October 28, bringing 10 Korean films to its Movie Hub channel across a weekly schedule running through December 30. The subscription-free service will open the series with Exhuma, a supernatural thriller, and plans to add more than a dozen short dramas in December as part of its Korean entertainment expansion in the U.S. and Korea.
Viewers will also get Iron Squad Season 3 on November 4 through the All Action channel. The Korean reality competition features veterans from elite special forces units. Samsung TV Plus requires an active Samsung device, so its subscription-free access comes with a hardware restriction.
The December microdramas come from Lezhin Snack, with U.S. viewers getting on-demand access while viewers in Korea get a channel devoted to the format. Samsung describes the short episodes as designed for watching on the go, with stories covering comedy, romance and mystery among other genres. The slate includes The Secret Roommate, A Cute Guy from Korea and Deathwish Covenant: After-School Revenge.
For movie viewers, the December schedule includes A Taxi Driver on December 30 and Assassination on December 2. Two entries from the Along with the Gods series are also scheduled: Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days on December 23 and Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds on November 25.
Samsung has scheduled Salmokji: Whispering Water for November 4 and The King’s Warden for December 16, describing both as exclusive subscription-free FAST/AVOD offerings. The November movie schedule also pairs The Roundup 1 (2017) on November 11 with The Roundup 2 (2022) a week later, on November 18.
The programming expansion follows Samsung TV Plus’s October 12 greenlight for Unlikely Families, a four-part scripted production from Dhar Mann Studios. That project is the second entry in the Unlikely anthology.
Samsung TV Plus is available through Samsung TVs and Galaxy devices, as well as Samsung Smart Monitor and Family Hub. Samsung puts the service’s monthly active audience at more than 100 million and says its global lineup spans more than 5,000 advertising-supported linear channels in 30 countries.
