Discord plans to make answers posted in public channels of Discoverable Servers findable through web search from mid-December 2026, with controls for both admins and members. Before that, every Discoverable Server will get a Server Web Page from November 16, 2026, and those pages may begin displaying automated summaries of community conversations.
Admins will choose which channels participate in Channel Messages, while members can decide whether messages they wrote appear. Discord says the searchable answers will retain members’ own wording, but will appear without their usernames or avatars. People who find an answer through search will be able to follow it into Discord and reach the conversation where it originated.
The requirement for a Server Web Page applies even if a moderation team takes no action: Discord will create a default version using the community’s Server Profile on November 16. Admins who already have a page need take no further steps, while those without one can set up and publish their own beforehand. They can edit the page afterward whenever they want.
Keeping a Discoverable Server will require keeping its Server Web Page, although admins can disable Channel Summaries entirely. Communities that do not want a page can change back to Community Server status. Server Web Pages already offer people browsing the public web a preview of a community before they decide to join, but some eligible servers have yet to create one because setup requires several steps.
Channel Summaries will draw on active discussions taking place from November 16 onward, giving visitors a sample of subjects being discussed inside the server. Admins can select the channels used to generate them and curate which summaries visitors see. As with Channel Messages, these summaries will omit usernames and avatars.
Discord has already tested Channel Messages with Discoverable game communities including Rust, NBA 2K and Dead by Daylight. The pilot used posts written exclusively by admins and moderators, rather than members. Discord says the search features could help people find community answers about game strategies, builds or boss guides.
