Razer has introduced the Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma, wired gaming earbuds that combine active noise cancellation with a 90° USB-C plug intended to keep the cable connection clear of your hands during play. The earbuds support gaming across mobile devices, handhelds and PCs, while pricing remains undisclosed. Razer says the wired digital connection avoids wireless audio compression and latency.

Each earbud combines two drivers: an 11mm dynamic unit handles bass, while a separate 6mm tweeter handles higher frequencies. Feed-Forward Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is designed to reduce surrounding noise, with Razer pointing to commuting and noisy shared spaces as uses. PC users can also enable THX Surround Sound 7.1 through Razer Synapse, making that audio feature specific to PC use.

The angled USB-C connector sits close to the connected device, addressing the space a straight plug can occupy when someone holds a phone horizontally. Razer says the design also reduces strain on the cable during extended sessions. Beyond phones and PCs, the company identifies compatible tablets and gaming handhelds as devices the earbuds can connect to.

An in-line controller lets players change the volume, operate media controls and switch ANC without leaving their game. An omnidirectional microphone supports voice chat with teammates as well as everyday calls. The earbuds carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which Razer describes as protection against perspiration, rainfall and incidental splashes during daily use and travel.

Listeners can switch between audio presets, including settings for calls and gaming, or create a custom equalizer profile. Razer Chroma RGB lights appear on both earbuds, with a choice of 16.8 million colors and lighting presets. Razer says users can coordinate that lighting with other equipment in their Razer ecosystem.

The introduction follows Razer’s October 21 announcement of the Razer Kraken Kitty V3, a wired headset aimed at streamers that combines interactive lighting with voice capture. Razer also announced the Razer Kraken V4 X Sensa HD Haptics Edition in September, a wired headset offering physical feedback through integration with more than 100 supported PC games.
