Meta is rolling out spoken conversations for Muse across mobile, web and Mac, with hundreds of selectable voices and an avatar that responds during chats. The rollout starts in the US, giving users a way to discuss ideas aloud and hear Muse answer without typing each exchange. Users start a call by tapping the phone symbol at the upper right of the app.

Meta says users can interrupt Muse’s spoken answers, with its Muse Realtime Voice and Muse Realtime Avatar technology powering the exchanges. The company describes responses as immediate and says Muse can continue following a conversation as its direction changes. Voice conversations are also planned for AI Glasses and Muse Charm, but Meta gives no date for those additions.

Users can keep the experience audio only, put the avatar beside the conversation or expand it to fill the screen. Meta says the avatar changes its facial expressions and movements to suit the conversation’s tone, including reacting while the user speaks. Its voice selection includes styles evoking a New Yorker or a pirate, and users can switch their choice whenever they like.

Meta pitches the feature as a way to develop an unfinished idea without first working out precisely how to phrase a prompt. For travel planning, it suggests starting with a destination, preferred accommodation or a meal around which to build a trip. The company says Muse can work on the idea during the conversation, including while someone is walking or preparing dinner.

Another proposed use is spoken practice for interviews, presentations and pitches, with users responding to Muse as the exchange unfolds. Meta says that hearing an answer and replying immediately can make rehearsal feel closer to the eventual interaction. The voice rollout follows a demonstration of real-time Muse conversations at Connect 2026.

Muse reached Singapore last month with connections to services including Grab, Shopee and Singapore Airlines for everyday errands, shopping and travel tasks. That launch offered access through iOS, Android and muse.ai, with Meta describing most routine uses as free and offering subscriptions for people needing more. Some experiences involving local connectors were scheduled to follow in stages after the Singapore launch.
