Google has introduced Google Fitbit Edge, a fitness tracker that brings Google Health Coach to a slim wearable with a screen offering 46% more viewing area than previous trackers. Google says the battery can last from one weekend to the next. The company positions the device between Pixel Watch and the screenless Fitbit Air.

Google calls the display its biggest and brightest on a tracker and says it remains readable in direct sunlight. The case uses recycled aluminum, with a shape designed to follow the wrist’s contours. Google describes the tracker as intended for both exercise and daily wear.

Google Health Coach provides personalized coaching on Google Fitbit Edge, extending an experience Google previously introduced on Pixel Watch and Fitbit Air. Unlike Fitbit Air, the new tracker provides a display for checking information on the wrist. Google describes Fitbit Air as a simpler, screenless option and Pixel Watch as an advanced smartwatch.

Fitbit Air opened for preorders in May at $99.99, with Google claiming roughly a week between battery charges. Later that month, Google published a roadmap with more than 39 planned fixes and improvements after the Google Health app replacement drew complaints about workout labels, missing sleep scores and food tracking.
