Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 gives players more than 500 possible Kill Block configurations at launch, with sections that rearrange to change routes, cover and sightlines. The Multiplayer map supports Gunfight in both 3v3 and the new 10v10 format, making its changing terrain part of single-life team battles. Xbox says support for additional core Multiplayer modes is planned for later seasons.

The game launched October 23, with versions for XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, Steam, Battle.net, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. The Vault Edition costs $99.99 and bundles extras including Operator Skins, five Signature Weapons and one season of BlackCell. XBOX Play Anywhere lets buyers play across console and PC without an additional charge.

Kill Block assembles its battlefield from three rectangular sections, placing a Central Slab between two End Slabs inside the West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility. Most sections are new, while some borrow from earlier locations such as Shoot House and Crash. Even those familiar sections get different surroundings as the adjoining areas change, altering how players approach them.

Gunfight assigns every player identical weapons and equipment at random, with custom loadouts unavailable. Teams exchange sides following the opening round, then receive a different loadout as the Slabs rearrange after round two. That two-round rotation continues until a team earns six wins; an Overtime Flag becomes the objective if both sides survive until time expires.

Weather simulation can bring rain or snow that affects visibility and tactical conditions. Players can climb onto containers, rooftops and balconies to gain sightlines while exposing themselves to opponents. Doors also offer choices: players can fire them open, force their way through or open them slowly.

Kill Block's launch support is narrower than the wider Multiplayer offering, which includes Ground War and Hardcore variants alongside other modes. Outside Kill Block, players get 12 Multiplayer maps, with another two returning maps due shortly after launch. Ground War includes armored vehicles, while four smaller maps serve Gunfight.

Earlier beta plans introduced Kill Block as a 10v10 Gunfight experience with shifting layouts, ahead of the current launch offering that also supports 3v3. The Nintendo Switch 2 open beta was scheduled for August 28 through September 1, with participation available without a pre-order.
