BOOX Palma 3 is available to order through the official BOOX Shop. The new 6.13-inch mobile ePaper device brings Android 16, InkSense Plus stylus support and a metal frame, replacing the plastic mid-frame used before.
Screen and design changes
The monochrome display has a 300 PPI pixel density. BOOX describes improved contrast and smoother transitions between pages. Front lighting offers two tones, while a built-in sensor adjusts the lighting to suit the surroundings.
The redesigned body pairs its metal frame with a matte backplate that has a paper-like texture. Palma 3 measures 7.8 mm thick and weighs approximately 185 g.
Reading tools let you change themes, highlight passages and underline sentences. InkSense Plus support adds quick annotations and light markup, with the option to use the device as a scratchpad for capturing ideas.
Android 16 and performance upgrades
Android 16 includes access to the Google Play Store, allowing downloads of reading, planning and learning apps. The home screen supports docks and widgets, giving owners ways to arrange the interface around their preferred tools.
EinkWise provides controls for individual apps, including refresh mode, color mode and layout. These settings let you configure how apps appear on the ePaper display.
An upgraded octa-core processor uses a 4nm process and works alongside BOOX Super Refresh technology. BOOX claims CPU performance rises by 45% compared with the preceding model.
Memory totals 6GB of RAM, with 128GB of storage inside the device. A microSD card supports storage expansion up to 2TB, according to the official Palma 3 announcement.
