Spam calls and texts can really ruin your day, but your Galaxy S25 FE has some excellent built-in tools to fight back. Samsung's One UI 8, running on Android 15, includes a powerful spam protection system that works automatically once you turn it on.
I'd start by enabling the main protection feature. It's the single best thing you can do to cut down on unwanted interruptions. This feature uses a combination of Samsung's own Smart Call service and Google's spam database to identify and warn you about suspicious numbers before you even answer.
Turn On Caller ID and Spam Protection
Open your Phone app and tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner. Select Settings from the menu that appears. From there, tap on Caller ID and spam protection.
You'll see a main toggle at the top of the screen. Slide it to the On position. This immediately activates the service. Below that, you'll find an option labeled Block spam and scam calls.
I recommend turning this on as well. When enabled, it will automatically block calls that are flagged as high-confidence spam, sending them straight to voicemail so your phone never even rings. You can always check your voicemail later just in case.
Block a Number Directly from a Call or Text
If a spammer gets through, you can block them instantly. After a call, open your Phone app and go to the Recents tab. Find the number, tap on it to see its info page, and then select Block number.
For spam texts, the process is just as quick. Open the Messages app and find the conversation. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right, choose Details, and then tap Block & report spam. This both blocks the sender and reports the number to help improve the spam filter for everyone.
Manage Your Personal Block List
You can view and edit all the numbers you've blocked manually. Go back to Phone app > Settings > Block numbers. This screen shows your complete block list.
To remove a number, simply tap the minus icon next to it. You can also add numbers directly here by tapping Add phone number at the bottom. This is useful for blocking a number you have written down but haven't called you yet.
Use Samsung's Smart Call Feature
This is a handy part of the spam protection suite. With Smart Call enabled (it turns on automatically with Caller ID and spam protection), your phone will identify businesses by name even if they're not in your contacts.
It also visually labels incoming calls with tags like Spam risk or Telemarketer right on the incoming call screen. This gives you a clear, immediate reason to send the call to voicemail or block it.
Report Spam Texts to Your Carrier
For particularly persistent spam text campaigns, you can help your carrier fight them at the network level. Just forward the spam text message to the number 7726. It spells "SPAM" on your keypad.
You'll usually get an automated reply asking for the sender's phone number. Reply with that number. This reporting method works with major US carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon.
Consider a Dedicated Call Blocking App
If you want an even more aggressive filter, third-party apps from the Galaxy Store or Play Store can help. Apps like Truecaller have massive, community-updated databases of spam numbers.
These apps can provide deeper caller identification and sometimes more customizable blocking rules. During setup, they'll ask for permission to manage your calls, which you'll need to grant for them to work properly.
With these settings activated, your Galaxy S25 FE should become a much quieter, more peaceful device. The automatic blocking does the heavy lifting, so you can focus on the calls and messages that actually matter to you.
