Onyx Boox has announced the BOOX Note Air6 C, a 10.3-inch color ePaper notebook aimed at knowledge workers and positioned as the successor to the Note Air5 C. The company did not disclose a price, a release date, or which regions will get it. It also left out battery life, storage capacity, screen resolution, and weight, so buyers still lack the numbers that usually decide a purchase.
The headline change is speed. Onyx Boox says the new model runs 40 percent faster than the Note Air5 C, which should mean quicker page turns and less waiting when large documents open. An upgraded octa-core processor sits behind that gain, though the company did not name the chip. The tablet runs Android 16.
Onyx Boox is also touting its BOOX Super Refresh (BSR) technology, which it says cuts lag and ghosting on screen. A new Smooth Mode is part of that effort. The display itself is textured to mimic the feel of pen on paper, and a dual-tone front light shifts from cool to warm amber for reading in different conditions.
Onyx Boox lists the Pen3 stylus and a Keyboard Cover among the accessories for the device, without saying which of them is included. The power button doubles as a fingerprint sensor, and there is a microSD card slot for expanding storage. Wireless connectivity is listed at 6.0 with low latency. The tablet can pair with BOOX Tappy for page turns and with wireless earbuds for audiobooks.
On the software side, the NeoReader app handles more than 20 document formats and adds an annotation bar plus an AI Assistant. Readers can adjust fonts, margins, and layout. A native Notes app offers Template Hub layouts, and the writing tools include Insert, Shapes, and Tag. The company says the latest firmware adds Talk Insights, which records meetings and then transcribes and summarizes them, and Dual Notes to ease cross-referencing.
The device includes the Google Play Store, so users can install third-party Android apps. The interface is tablet-like with customizable widgets, and split-screen multitasking is supported. Onyx Boox says the Note Air6 C works with the third-party cloud services Readwise and Zotero.
Onyx Boox lists students, faculty, consultants, and creative professionals as the target users. The company has not said whether the Note Air6 C will replace the Note Air5 C at retail or sell alongside it.
