Garmin has introduced its third-generation MARQ watches, bringing inReach connectivity, worldwide maps and a 1.4-inch AMOLED display to a collection available now at suggested retail prices starting at $2,500. The six models include the new MARQ Diver, which supports scuba, apnea and snorkeling activities at depths of up to 40 meters. Garmin rates every watch in the collection for up to 18 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.
The inReach features require an active plan, and LTE coverage varies by region. Garmin says users can place calls over LTE without a phone, send text and voice messages through LTE or satellite, and request assistance from Garmin Response through an SOS message. Satellite connectivity and SOS have limitations compared with other inReach devices that can prevent connected features from working in some situations.
TopoActive maps come installed for worldwide navigation, with address search also joining the collection. Garmin Locate lets people share their live location through Garmin Messenger when the watch is connected to LTE, while the watches can retrieve weather forecasts over satellite or LTE. A microphone and speaker support voice commands, and responding to texts through a phone’s virtual assistant requires a paired smartphone with a data connection within Bluetooth range.
The watches use Grade-5 titanium and sapphire lenses, with ceramic bezel designs and straps or bracelets specific to each model. Each also has an LED flashlight, while the ECG app analyzes recorded heart rhythms for signs of atrial fibrillation. Morning reports show overnight recovery, and evening reports provide sleep needs alongside information about the next day’s workout, weather and events.
MARQ Golfer includes more than 43,000 courses, Virtual Caddie and green contour data, with the latter requiring an active Garmin Golf membership. MARQ Aviator provides aviation weather and dynamic flight mapping, while MARQ Commander includes stealth mode, night vision capabilities and an Applied Ballistics solver. MARQ Adventurer offers Preloaded ClimbPro for climb information without preparing a course beforehand, and MARQ Athlete adds running economy measurements and enhanced stamina metrics.
Garmin’s earlier Enduro 4 launch put solar charging and endurance tools in a watch priced at $899.99, substantially below the MARQ collection’s starting price. That model uses a 1.4-inch MIP display with a solar lens and includes 64 GB of storage for activity data, music and maps. Within the new collection, MARQ Diver also offers autopilot control and tack assist for use on the water, plus a strap with 15mm of microadjustment.
