Garmin’s Enduro 4 smartwatch is available now for $899.99, pairing solar charging with new tools for pacing on hills and tracking endurance across long outings. Garmin rates its battery at up to 320 hours in activity mode or up to 90 days in smartwatch mode, using a 1.4-inch MIP display and a solar lens. The watch supports more than 100 activity profiles, with additions aimed at trail running, backpacking and other endurance pursuits.
The 320-hour figure assumes continuous exposure to 50,000 lux light conditions throughout that period, with activity mode (extended battery) selected and typical use. The 90-day estimate assumes the watch is worn all day and spends three hours outdoors daily in 50,000 lux conditions. Garmin’s Max Battery setting targets extended recording, while Max Accuracy provides full tracking for shorter activities, making the power setting another condition behind the maximum runtime.
For hilly workouts, grade-adjusted pace-based workout targets are intended to help athletes keep their effort within the desired range. Garmin says grade-adjusted rolling pace shows pace as terrain changes during an activity. Stamina zones indicate stamina’s effect on an activity, while stamina curve uses fitness and training history to show changes in endurance over time.
Enduro 4 has 50% more RAM than Enduro 3, and Garmin claims its updated map engine pans 30% faster. Its built-in maps support routing, while Perspective view adds detail at nearer and farther distances to help users assess the route ahead. The watch also has 64 GB of storage for maps, music and activity data.
Garmin Epic groups activities spanning days, weeks or months in Garmin Connect, where users can attach photos, share their trips and review combined health and performance data. Indoor rowing gains VO2 max and power curve insights. Rucking tools allow users to change pack weight mid-activity and choose targets such as calorie expenditure.
The 66-gram watch has a 51mm case, a titanium bezel, a fiber-reinforced polymer body and a scratch-resistant Power Sapphire lens. Its LED flashlight offers white and red light, and the watch carries a 10 ATM water-resistance rating. The new ComfortFit Fabric Band supports QuickFit band changes and is designed to wick moisture.
