Fairphone launched the Gen. 6+ on August 18, 2026, a new model that keeps the repairable design of its predecessor while boosting performance with 12GB of DDR5 RAM and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. The company says app loading and switching are up to 24% faster, and multitasking allocation is up by 20%, though these figures come from internal lab tests and actual performance may vary.

The Gen. 6+ reuses the modular chassis of the Fairphone (Gen. 6), so all 12 user-replaceable parts remain compatible and can be swapped with a single screwdriver. Fairphone puts the warranty at up to five years, with promised software support until 2033. A new Cobalt Blue colorway joins the lineup.

Fairphone says the device contains 51% fair or recycled materials by weight, is assembled under fair working conditions, and maintains 100% e-waste neutrality. Its carbon footprint is about 30 kg CO2e over three years, roughly half that of an average smartphone.

Fairphone says it is officially entering the US market, with the Gen. 6+ arriving there alongside the Fairbuds and Fairbuds XL. The company attributes its ability to secure parts to deep supplier relationships, saying suppliers are attracted by its mission, and notes that avoiding a physical redesign kept down cosmetic costs. No price or specific availability date beyond the launch was announced.
