Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered launches for PlayStation 5 on November 3, and a PlayStation Blog fighter guide outlines its 12 kaiju. The official guide explains how their attributes, attacks and special abilities suit different approaches to combat.
Heisei Godzilla is the default fighter, combining substantial starting health with balanced stats. The guide presents him as suitable for both new players and veterans. His melee combinations are also beginner-friendly. His tail can deliver a strike after he is knocked down, but his pulse attack takes time to charge and leaves room for counterattacks. His slow projectiles also create openings for ranged opponents. Godzilla 2000 offers a faster alternative with less strength.
King Ghidorah favors distance, using several projectile attacks to keep opponents away. Flying consumes energy, although his airborne lightning attack needs no charge. Mecha-King Ghidorah adds a shield and projectiles that drain opponents, but depends on energy for his strongest attacks.
For speed, Rodan leads the roster in movement and aerial mobility, offset by the lowest defense. Gigan combines fast movement with teleportation for aggressive attacks and evasive movement, though energy attacks are a weakness. Megalon can tunnel to dodge attacks and emerge into grabs, but burrowing also costs energy.
Destoroyah brings powerful physical attacks and energy moves that can inflict heavy damage, including some that cannot be blocked. His strongest abilities consume large amounts of power, while his movement is slow. Orga instead emphasizes grappling, with long reach that helps at close and medium distances. His paralyzing goo is expensive to use and can leave him vulnerable after a miss.
