Alexa Photo Frame is available from $199.99 for the Black version, with real Birch and Walnut wood models priced at $229.00. Amazon’s announcement introduces a frame that pulls pictures from Amazon Photos automatically and lets you ask Alexa to find images of particular people, pets or trips.
The frame has a 10-inch HD touchscreen with a semi-matte surface designed to reduce glare. The screen is calibrated specifically for showing photographs. A light sensor adjusts screen brightness as the room changes. Soft-white textured matting surrounds the display, while the touch controls let you swipe through pictures directly on the frame.
You can select people or albums for display, with pictures syncing from Amazon Photos as new ones are taken. Prime includes photo storage at full resolution without a storage limit. Friends and relatives can also send pictures straight to the frame, and albums added as a gift can keep updating.
Alexa+ selects pictures using faces, time and sentiment, including smiles and lighting. Its choices can follow the season, such as showing previous Halloween costumes in October. It also passes over screenshots and receipts. For a particular memory, voice requests can describe the people or trip you want to see.
Alexa can place related pictures beside each other after identifying connections involving people, places and moments. Voice notes can be attached to individual images to preserve a spoken account of the occasion. These notes can also accompany photos added as a gift.
Some features require Alexa+, which Prime includes. Each frame also includes 90 days of Alexa+.
