To manage devices connected to Netflix, open Manage Access and Devices, review recent activity, expand the arrow beside a device, and select Sign Out. You can also sign out every device, remove saved downloads through separate download controls, or update your Netflix Household. If you find unfamiliar activity, change your password and sign out unwanted devices.

Review devices using your account
In a desktop or mobile browser, open the Manage Access and Devices page at netflix.com/manageaccountaccess and sign in. On Manage Access and Devices, review each entry’s device type, most recently used profile, and last watched date and time.
Treat these entries as recent activity rather than a complete inventory of everything connected to your account. A listed device is not necessarily streaming right now, so check the profile and last watched details before deciding which device to disconnect.
Sign out a device remotely
Expand the down arrow beside the device you want to disconnect, then select Sign Out. With an active subscription, this works for listed devices you cannot reach, such as a hotel TV you left signed in or a lost device.
For a broader cleanup, scroll to the bottom of the same screen and select Sign Out of All Devices, then select Sign Out to confirm. You can also follow the steps to sign out of every device when you want to disconnect the entire account.
Signing out does not stop someone with valid sign-in credentials from returning. If the device belongs to someone who should no longer have access, change your password too.
Secure unfamiliar account access
Using a non-Kids profile in a browser, open Account > Security > Password and change the account password. Then return to Manage Access and Devices and sign out unfamiliar devices or every device. Follow the steps to change your Netflix password if you need help with the password change or reset process.
When you cannot sign in, open Netflix’s password reset controls, choose Email, enter the account email, and select Email Me. In Netflix’s email, select Reset your password and enter the new password twice. Check Sign out all devices, then select Save. The email reset link expires after 24 hours.
If your account has secondary profile sign-in emails, open Account and select Manage Profiles, then review each profile’s email address and remove unfamiliar addresses. Netflix says people using those addresses will be signed out within 24 hours. Also change the account password and sign out all devices.
Remove devices holding downloads
To manage saved titles, open the Manage Download Devices page at netflix.com/account/devices/download-devices in a browser and sign in. Find the device, then select Remove device. This deletes all Netflix downloads from that device, including a device you no longer have access to.
In the current Android, iPhone, or iPad app, tap My Netflix, tap the profile name, then tap Account. Under Devices, tap Mobile download devices, locate the device, and tap Remove device. Use the access controls separately when your goal is to revoke a signed-in session.
To clear downloads on the Android phone or tablet, iPhone, or iPad you are holding, tap My Netflix, tap the profile name, and open App Settings. Under Downloads, select Delete All Downloads, then tap Delete. This frees download capacity without using remote session controls.
Sign out on the device you are using
In the current Netflix app on Android 9 or later, Fire OS 7 or later, or iOS and iPadOS 18 or later, tap My Netflix at the lower right. Tap the profile name at the top, tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out again. Older compatible iPhone and iPad app versions may use different menus.
In a supported desktop browser, hover over the profile icon at the upper right and select Sign out of Netflix. Repeat this in other browsers you want to disconnect because the action affects the current browser session. In the current Netflix app for Windows 10 and later, hover over the profile icon at the upper right and select Sign out of Netflix.
On supported smart TVs and TV-connected apps with these menus, press Back from Netflix’s home screen. With a top menu, move left to the profile icon; with a left menu, move to the bottom. Select Get Help > Sign out, then select Yes. On interfaces without Get Help, look under Settings.
Fix TV sign out menu problems
On supported TV and streaming-player apps, Netflix provides a remote shortcut to an alternate menu. In Netflix, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. Select whichever option appears: Sign out, Reset, or Deactivate. Some device-specific versions also offer Start Over.
This sequence is not a universal Apple TV shortcut. On Apple TV HD, fourth generation, and later supported models, press Back from Netflix’s home screen and move left to the profile icon. Select Get Help > Sign out, then select Yes.
If you are on a TV or streaming-player error screen offering these controls, select More Details, then select Sign out or Reset. If you cannot reach the local controls, use remote sign-out for a device listed in Manage Access and Devices with an active subscription.
Add devices and update your Household
To add a supported device, connect it to your home network and sign in to Netflix. Devices using the same internet connection as your household TV are associated automatically. There is no separate device-registration quota, although your plan still limits simultaneous viewing.
On a supported TV showing QR sign-in, select Sign in, scan the QR code with your smartphone camera, and tap the resulting link. Then tap Sign in to TV to authorize the TV.
To update your Netflix Household, use a supported TV connected to your preferred home internet connection. From Netflix’s home screen, press Back, or Menu on Apple TV, and open the profile icon in the top menu or move to the bottom of the left menu. Select Get Help or Settings, then Manage Netflix Household > Update Netflix Household.
Select Send Email, or Send Text when no email is registered. In the message, select Yes, This Was Me, then select Confirm Update. Use another TV if Manage Netflix Household is absent.
Resolve viewing limits without removing devices
If Netflix says the account is already in use, stop playback or close Netflix on another device using the account. Allow 5 to 10 minutes if the stream-limit error persists. You do not need to sign out a device just to free a simultaneous stream.
When you regularly need more simultaneous viewing or download devices, you can change your Netflix plan to an eligible option with higher allowances. Open the Change Plan page, choose the desired plan, and select Continue or Update. Select Confirm Change or Confirm to finish. Accounts billed through partner packages may require provider-specific changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is a device missing from Manage Access and Devices?
Devices can take 48 hours to appear. Devices inactive for more than 90 days, games-only devices, and Tudum-only devices may be absent.
Why does my Windows Netflix app appear as Edge?
Netflix on Windows can appear as Edge in the device list. That label alone does not mean the entry belongs to an unfamiliar device.
Can I reset my Netflix password by text message?
Yes, if your account has a linked mobile number. On the password reset screen, choose Text Message (SMS), enter the number, and select Text Me. Enter the code and select Verify, enter your new password twice, check Sign out all devices, and select Save. The verification code expires after 20 minutes.
How do I use Netflix on a device while traveling?
On a non-Kids profile facing a household restriction, select I'm Traveling on TV or Watch Temporarily on mobile or computer. Select Send Email, or Send Text without a registered email, then select Get Code in the message and enter the four-digit code within 15 minutes. On TV, select Next; on mobile or computer, select Submit Code, then select Continue to Netflix. Temporary-code requests are limited.
Does signing out all devices disconnect Google Assistant?
Yes, Netflix says selecting Sign Out of All Devices also unlinks its account from Google Assistant. Stopping playback with a voice command does not revoke Netflix sign-in.
How do I remove an extra member instead of a device?
In Netflix’s extra-member account controls, select Remove recipient, then select Remove to end an activated recipient’s access immediately. For an invitation that was never activated, select Cancel invitation. To cancel the paid slot instead, select Cancel slot, then select Cancel extra member slot. With slot cancellation, access continues until the current billing period ends.
