Samsung returned to Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, to show off its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, which was first introduced at the company's #PlaySamsung event on August 27. The new range includes four models, headlined by the Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ), which Samsung says is the world's first 42-inch 16:9 curved OLED gaming monitor. With a 1000R curve, it offers roughly 72 percent more screen area than a 32-inch display, a design the company says suits open-world games.

The lineup also includes the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ) with three display modes, and the 27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H), which Samsung calls the world's first 1,100Hz gaming monitor. The G6 can run at QHD resolution up to 600Hz or HD up to 1,100Hz, while the G8 offers UHD up to 360Hz, QHD up to 520Hz, or FHD up to 680Hz. The G8 supports HDR10+ GAMING, which Samsung says can bring deeper dark scenes and brighter highlights while cutting how often players adjust HDR settings by hand.

Samsung is working with Activision Blizzard to bring HDR10+ GAMING to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which is scheduled for release on October 23. The company hosted the Samsung Odyssey Showdown: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on August 29, featuring content creators Zyro, Rewinside, EloTRiX, and Rosemondy. Visitors at the Pearl Abyss area saw Crimson Desert Enhanced up close, and a separate console area paired Crimson Desert with Samsung's 83-inch OLED TV S99H, which T3 named Best Gaming TV of 2026.

The booth included a cloud gaming zone where attendees played via Samsung Gaming Hub on 48-inch OLED TVs, and an Odyssey 3D area demonstrating Cyberpunk 2077 and Cronos: The New Dawn without specialized glasses. Samsung also set up a Call of Duty photo zone and Crimson Desert quizzes and activities. The company says it has led the global gaming monitor market for seven consecutive years.

Esfand, a popular Twitch streamer, praised the new monitors: "The clarity and contrast of Samsung's new Odyssey lineup are so nice. Once you see the new monitors, you really notice the difference in how they fully immerse you in the game." A booth visitor added, "The scale and curve of the new Odyssey OLED G7 create a whole new level of immersion. It's great that Samsung designed the monitor with open-world environments in mind."
