References discovered by SamMobile list the device under the codename "Samsung Galaxy Aero" alongside the code "galaxy_rtos_watch," pointing to a real-time operating system rather than Wear OS.
The timing is notable since Samsung recently unveiled its latest premium smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 9 series and the flagship Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. That positioning suggests the Galaxy Aero could target a lower price tier, since an RTOS watch would not need the expensive processor, large memory, or high-capacity battery found inside its premium Wear OS models, giving Samsung more room to compete against affordable watches and fitness trackers from brands like Amazfit and Motorola.
RTOS watches commonly last a week or more between charges, while most Wear OS models still need charging every day or two, and lower power consumption could push the Galaxy Aero toward several weeks of use.
