Cross-border money transfers now reach ChatGPT users directly within the AI platform. Remitly Global launched its app inside OpenAI's conversational interface yesterday, becoming the first cross-border money transfer company to establish a presence on the platform used by hundreds of millions worldwide.
The Seattle-based fintech company (NASDAQ: RELY) announced the integration on April 16, 2026. Logged-in ChatGPT subscribers in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom can now check exchange rates and compare delivery options without leaving the chat interface.
Transactions still complete through Remitly's mobile app or website, but initial research happens conversationally.
"Sending money should feel straightforward, not stressful," said Ankur Tiwari, VP of Product at Remitly. "The Remitly app in ChatGPT puts the information our customers need, rates and delivery options, so they can make confident decisions before they send."
This expansion follows Remitly's earlier introduction of money transfers through WhatsApp. The company now operates across more than 175 countries with what it calls one of the world's leading global money movement platforms.
Market reaction was positive yesterday, with RELY shares gaining 4.08% while peers showed mixed performance.
Available to Free, Go, Plus, and Pro ChatGPT subscribers sending to select destination countries, the feature represents a strategic push into AI-powered financial services. Customers can explore international transfer options through natural conversation rather than dealing with separate applications.
Remitly reported record Q4 2025 results earlier this year alongside its first full year of GAAP profitability. The company raised both revenue and Adjusted EBITDA guidance following strong performance throughout last year.
