PS5 system software version 26.07-14.22.00 brings security fixes to the console. PlayStation lists the version as its latest update on the official PS5 system software page, with a release note focused on security changes.
The preceding release, version 26.07-14.20.00, changed on-screen messages and made some screens easier to use. Before that, version 26.06-14.10.00 combined security fixes with improvements to system performance and stability. Those changes appear under earlier versions in the same update history.
The page also records changes to image quality and voice chat in version 26.06-14.00.00. On PS5 Pro, that release made Enhance PSSR Image Quality turn on automatically after a system software update. The setting applies enhanced PSSR to games that support the earlier PSSR version, with sharper, clearer visuals as the stated benefit.
PS5 Pro owners can disable that setting through Settings, then Screen and Video, Video Output and Enhance PSSR Image Quality. PlayStation identifies the feature as exclusive to PS5 Pro.
Version 26.06-14.00.00 also added a way to identify speakers during voice chat. The indicator is controlled from the voice chat card within the control center. Under More, selecting Display Who’s Speaking and enabling Display Names shows the names; Position lets players choose where the indicator appears.
That earlier release also introduced a Community Activity widget for the Welcome Hub. Its Trending Now view lists ten multiplayer games or modes gaining popularity, while Top 10 shows the ten leading games over the past week in the player’s country or region. The current 26.07-14.22.00 entry identifies security fixes as its change.
