The standard Galaxy Buds 4 appears in black with an open-fit design lacking silicone tips, while the Buds 4 Pro features white silicone ear tips for improved noise isolation. Both models share metallic stems with touch-sensitive controls, moving away from the triangular design of the Buds 3 series.

Samsung redesigned the charging case to a rectangular form factor with a transparent lid, returning to a squarish shape similar to earlier generations.

The earbuds lie horizontally inside the case, a departure from the stem-first insertion of previous models. The base model's case shows a two-tone design with dark green exterior and black interior matching the earbuds.

European pricing reportedly starts at €179 for the Galaxy Buds 4 and €249 for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. US prices may remain unchanged from the previous generation at $179 and $249 respectively, according to Phone Arena.

The premium positioning places both models in direct competition with Apple's AirPods and AirPods Pro.

Technical specifications from earlier leaks suggest battery improvements, with the Buds 4 potentially featuring 42mAh cells and the Pro model reaching 57mAh. Samsung may also introduce new gesture controls including pinch-and-hold activation for Interpreter Mode, integrating with Galaxy AI features on compatible smartphones.

The design changes follow Samsung's reported efforts to address quality concerns from the Buds 3 generation. The company appears to be balancing Apple-inspired elements like stem designs with distinctive features including visible charging contacts on the inner stems.

Both models feature microphone arrays positioned at the base of the stems and on the rear housing, suggesting continued focus on call quality and active noise cancellation. The Pro model's silicone tips will include multiple sizes in the box for customized fit.

Industry analysts note the timing aligns with increased competition in the premium wireless earbuds segment. Sony has also shown leaked images of its upcoming WF-1000XM6 earbuds, adding to competition in the premium audio segment.

Samsung's return to practical case design represents a strategic shift after the Buds 3 series adopted more AirPods-like aesthetics. The transparent lid and horizontal placement aim to improve usability while maintaining visual distinction from competitors.

The Galaxy Buds 4 series will officially debut on February 25 during Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event, which will also showcase the Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup. Final specifications and regional availability will be confirmed at the launch.
