Google has added Omni 1.1 video generation to Google Vids, and anyone signed in with a Google or Google Workspace account can use it at no cost, according to the announcement published today. The feature puts AI clip generation and scene controls inside the company's video tool.
Clips come out in full 1080p HD, and AI footage users already have can be upscaled to match, with the upgraded material blending into the rest of the timeline. Scenes can be extended while keeping the same visual context, so lighting, characters, and the surrounding environment stay consistent across the join. Users can also set exact clip lengths, which the company says helps align footage with a story or a voiceover.
Google frames the use cases broadly, from side projects to large campaigns. Ready-to-use templates are meant to let someone launching a product build a video without manual editing, and photos of new arrivals can be turned into promotional clips. Enterprise teams can produce landing page videos, social announcements, and digital signage for events, while community organizers can make videos for events, clubs, and fundraisers.
Every Omni 1.1 clip carries a SynthID watermark embedded in the video frames, which Google says is imperceptible and lets viewers check whether content was AI-generated.
A second feature is on the way. Google says Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite text-to-speech is coming soon to Google Vids and will convert a typed script into narration in more than 100 languages. Google has not said when it will arrive.
The announcement leaves several practical questions open. Google did not disclose pricing for its Google AI plans, which it says offer more AI video generation on personal accounts, and it gave no regional availability limits, no device or platform compatibility details, and no file format or export options. There is also no stated maximum clip duration and no word on generation limits or quotas.
