Google released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 on July 20. The update focuses on fixes and platform improvements and includes a minor SDK release with no planned behavior changes.
The release carries build number CP41.260701.005. Google's notes list a fix for Bluetooth devices that failed to reconnect after a remote bond loss and another for media controls briefly appearing on the lock screen when an app's notifications were disabled.
Another fix targets a system crash that caused Pixel devices to reboot when Gemini was invoked. Google also corrected a drag-and-drop issue that could stop an app from receiving touch events after a multi-finger gesture.
Additional fixes cover notifications that could disappear until a restart, window-level blur effects that failed to render, and misleading bounds data in accessibility debugging output. Google distributes QPR beta builds so developers can test quarterly platform changes before they reach supported devices.
