Google has started pushing a set of health and safety features called Health Guardian into the Google Health app, with the rollout beginning this week. The tools are free to use with a Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4 or Pixel Watch 5, so owners of those three models do not need a separate subscription to get them.
The first trend reports from the new tools are scheduled to arrive in early October, which means the initial rollout will not show users everything at once. Google has not given an exact date beyond that window, and it has not said what the reports will look like when they land.

Health Guardian runs continuously in the background, watching for shifts in the wearer's physiological signals rather than waiting for a manual check. Google says the features are backed by clinical research, though the announcement does not detail which studies or how the underlying detection was validated.
One piece of the package, Breathing Emergency Detection, is limited to the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5 and only in select European countries. Google says it is designed to trigger an emergency call automatically if the wearer's blood oxygen drops sharply. Google has not named the countries involved, so it is unclear how many European users can actually get the feature.
Fitbit Air owners are not left out entirely, but their access comes through Google Health Premium later this year. That tier will surface insulin resistance and blood pressure trends for those users. Google has not disclosed what Google Health Premium costs, leaving the price of that path unknown.
The newest of those watches, the Pixel Watch 5, surfaced in leaks before Google announced it. A leak in August pointed to four color options for the Pixel Watch 5 ahead of an expected Made by Google event on August 12, and the watch had already turned up as a selectable device inside the Google Health app before it was officially revealed.
It also follows a broader reshuffle of Google's health software. Google Health 5.0 replaced the Fitbit app on Android and iOS, and the Google Health Coach was built with Gemini for Premium subscribers. That same roadmap dropped Sleep Profile and its monthly sleep animals, ended Estimated Oxygen Variation tracking, and removed Groups, Community Feed and direct messaging, with a July 15 deadline for downloading data tied to the cut features.
