About 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings toys sold on Amazon are being recalled because the water beads inside them can expand if ingested, posing deadly ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards that can lead to severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and risk of death, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The recalled toys are translucent round squishy balls with cartoon faces, glitter-like particles, and water beads inside, packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer. The products have no markings, but a removable label reads "SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS" and "SQUEEZE ME."
Consumers are urged to stop using the toys immediately and contact Xiamen Liuhui Electric Technology Co., Ltd., which does business as Chenyuanhui, for a full refund. To receive the refund, customers must write "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the toy and its container, dispose of the item, and email a photo of the discarded toy to [email protected].
No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The CPSC notes that federal law prohibits the sale of products subject to a recall undertaken in consultation with the agency.
The CPSC announced a separate water bead toy recall the same day, covering OKK Trading Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys, which the agency said contain beads that swell beyond the size allowed under the mandatory toy standard.
