Capgemini expanded its Google Cloud partnership to deliver secure sovereign AI solutions, giving clients access to Gemini-based AI in isolated environments.

The IT services group achieved Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped operator status, enabling completely internet-isolated deployments.

This allows organizations to use Gemini-based hyper-automated cloud operations while meeting stringent compliance requirements.

Capgemini will help clients adopt Google Cloud's leading AI technologies including Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise, focusing on enhancing cybersecurity, resilience, disaster recovery, and sovereign-aligned compliance.

The France-based company plans to establish a Google Sovereign Cloud Delivery Practice and Centre of Excellence.

These initiatives build on Capgemini's decade-long experience delivering tailored Google Cloud solutions and its recognition as Google Cloud's Global Industry Solution Partner of the Year in 2025.

This expansion follows Capgemini's April 2025 agentic AI initiative with Google Cloud to transform customer experience across industries.

The sovereign cloud solutions address growing European regulatory requirements for data control, similar to requirements driving Capgemini's separate AWS European Sovereign Cloud partnership announced earlier this year.

These regulatory pressures come amid broader European scrutiny of major tech companies' AI practices.

Capgemini reported 2024 global revenues of €22.1 billion and employs 420,000 team members across more than 50 countries.
