To play Clash Royale on PC, install Google Play Games on a supported Windows computer, sign in to Google, then install Clash Royale through the desktop client. This is Supercell's supported Windows route, with mouse controls and the same gameplay as mobile. You can bring your existing mobile progress over with Supercell ID.
The short version
- Official route: Install Clash Royale through Google Play Games on Windows.
- PC requirements: You need compatible hardware, an SSD, hardware virtualization, and a supported Google Play country.
- Existing progress: Connect your mobile game to Supercell ID, then log in to that account on PC.
- Controls: Use your mouse to play and press F11 to toggle full screen.
- Phone alternatives: You can mirror a compatible Android phone with Phone Link or scrcpy, though game input support varies.
| Option | What runs the game | Main requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play Games | Your Windows PC | Supported PC hardware and Google Account |
| Phone Link | Your Android phone | Phone supporting app or screen streaming and shared Wi-Fi |
| scrcpy over USB | Your Android phone | USB connection and USB debugging |
Check your PC before downloading
You need Windows 10 version 2004 or later, four physical CPU cores, 8 GB of RAM, and an SSD with at least 10 GB free. Your graphics hardware must be Intel UHD Graphics 630 or comparable. Hardware virtualization must also be enabled.
Use a Windows administrator account and a personal Google Account whose Google Play country is supported. On a managed computer, your administrator must permit the installation. Google still lists Windows 10 in its requirements, although Microsoft's standard support for that operating system has ended.
Install Google Play Games and Clash Royale
Open the official Google Play Games download page on your Windows PC and select Download on PC. Open the downloaded installer file and follow its instructions.
If the installer requests Windows Hypervisor Platform, enable that component and restart the computer when requested. Sign in with the Google Account you want to use for gaming. When prompted to create a Play Games profile, enter your gamer name, optionally select Edit to change the profile image, then click Create Profile.
Once the client opens, search for Clash Royale, select the game, and click Install. Launch its installed entry when installation finishes. If you already play on your phone, connect that account before starting a battle.
Bring your mobile progress to the PC
To load your existing progress on PC, first connect the correct mobile game to Supercell ID. On your phone, open Clash Royale and go to Settings > Supercell ID. If that game is already connected, use its existing Supercell ID email when signing in on Windows.
To connect an account that is not yet saved, tap Continue, enter an unused valid email address, and tap Create. Enter the verification code sent to that address, tap Submit, then choose a Player ID and avatar. You can leave the optional marketing checkbox unchecked.
On PC, open the game's Settings > Supercell ID and select Log in. Enter the email connected to your mobile progress and use the fresh verification code sent to it. On a trusted personal computer, check Remember me on this device to retain the login.
You can also transfer progress from an iPhone to the Windows version through Supercell ID. Your account cannot stay active on mobile and PC simultaneously. Opening it on another device logs out the previous session.
Start playing and adjust the controls
Use your mouse to interact with Clash Royale, then select Battle to search for a Trophy Road opponent. You share matchmaking with mobile players, so you can face opponents playing on either platform.
Press F11 or Alt + Enter to toggle full screen. You can also press Shift + Tab and select Full screen. To close the game, press Alt + F4 or open that overlay and select Exit game.
For control options, click Game controls in the window's left sidebar. In full screen, press Shift + Tab and select Remap Controls. Google provides a generic editor for some games, while optimized games use their own Game Controls settings.
If the generic editor is available, select Edit, add Tap or Joystick, assign a key, position the control, and finish with the green checkmark. Press F12 to show or hide control labels. Follow the controls displayed for your game rather than assuming number keys select cards.
To adjust the frame-rate setting and supported display options, press Shift + Tab and select Visual settings. Available resolutions and actual frame rates depend on the game and your hardware. You can also adjust volume and pointer appearance through the overlay.
Resolve installation restrictions and virtualization prompts
If Windows blocks the installer because of its app-source setting, open Start > Settings > Apps > Advanced app settings. Under Choose where to get apps, select Anywhere. On Windows 10, find the corresponding setting under Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
If your PC uses Windows S mode, you must leave it to install Google's client. Leaving S mode is free and permanent. Open Microsoft's S mode switching page, follow its Microsoft Store link, and select Get on the Switch out of S mode page. Wait for the completion message before retrying Google's installer.
When CPU virtualization needs enabling in firmware, open Windows 11 Settings > System > Recovery. Under Advanced startup, select Restart now, then choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Settings > Restart. On Windows 10, begin at Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
Enable virtualization using your computer manufacturer's firmware instructions, then save the change. Firmware labels vary between manufacturers, so the setting's name depends on your PC. Complete any separate Windows Hypervisor Platform request from Google's installer afterward.
Fix a client that will not install or launch
If you have the client installed, right-click its icon in the Windows notification area and select Check for updates. Complete the update, then try again. To restart just the client, select Exit from that menu and reopen it.
For graphics-related launch or performance problems, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, select Performance, then select GPU. Read the graphics model and obtain its current driver through the hardware manufacturer's support service. If the whole computer stops responding, follow the steps to restart an unresponsive computer before continuing.
If updating does not resolve the client problem, remove and reinstall it. On Windows 11, open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps, locate Google Play Games, and select More > Uninstall. Windows 10 uses Apps & features; afterward, reinstall from Google's official download page.
For a persistent installer failure, run the installer until the problem occurs and click Send feedback. Check Send system information, describe the problem, include #gpginstall, and click Send.
If you are following older Windows Subsystem for Android or Amazon Appstore instructions, switch to Google Play Games. Microsoft ended their availability in Microsoft Store on March 5, 2025, so they are no longer supported installation routes.
Play from a supported Android phone with Phone Link
With Phone Link, your Android phone keeps running the game while you access it from Windows. Search Windows for Phone Link, open it, and select Android. Use Link to Windows on the phone to scan the displayed QR code, then complete the requested permissions. Setup requires a personal Microsoft account.
If Phone Link is missing, search Windows Settings for Phone Link and select Enable or disable Phone Link. Enable its toggle, select Install, then complete pairing.
Keep both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. In Phone Link, open Apps and select Clash Royale from the phone's installed applications. Your phone must support Phone Link app streaming; pairing alone does not provide that feature.
On supported devices, you can instead open Phone screen, complete its permissions, and launch Clash Royale on the mirrored screen. This requires a supported Android 10 or later phone with Link to Windows preinstalled and a PC with compatible DirectX 11 graphics. Keep both devices on the same Wi-Fi network for this connection too.
Use mouse or touch input where the streamed game supports it. Microsoft warns that some games require a touch-enabled PC, so Clash Royale mouse control through Phone Link is not guaranteed. Phone Link's iPhone pairing does not provide Android-style app streaming.
Mirror an Android phone over USB with scrcpy
For a USB alternative, get scrcpy from the official Genymobile repository and extract its Windows release archive. Your phone runs Clash Royale while scrcpy displays and controls its screen. Mirroring requires Android 5.0 or later, plus the Android version required by the game.
On a Pixel, open Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times to enable developer settings. On Samsung, reach that control through Settings > About phone > Software information. Open Developer options and enable USB debugging; its location varies by manufacturer.
Connect the phone by USB and authorize the computer on the phone. Open the package's open_a_terminal_here.bat file, then enter this command to launch mirroring:
scrcpyOpen Clash Royale in the mirrored screen to play. If you also want the phone's game audio forwarded to your computer, you need Android 11 or later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you play Clash Royale on a Mac?
You can use Apple's iPhone Mirroring on an eligible Mac to interact with Clash Royale running on a nearby locked iPhone. You need macOS Sequoia 15 or later, an Apple silicon or T2 Mac, iOS 18 or later, the same Apple Account with two-factor authentication, and an iPhone set up with a passcode. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both devices, then open iPhone Mirroring and complete its setup. The feature is unavailable in the EU.
Can you play Clash Royale in a browser?
Supercell's official PC version runs in the Google Play Games app, which you download and install on Windows. AirDroid Cast Web can display gameplay from your phone in a browser, but you still use the phone to run and control the game.
Should you use a third-party Android emulator?
LDPlayer, MEmu, and MuMuPlayer advertise Clash Royale installation routes, but Supercell's Terms of Service include emulators among prohibited uses. Those advertisements do not establish Supercell authorization or account safety. Use Google Play Games for Supercell's supported PC distribution.
Can another Windows user open the installed Google Play Games client?
Google says only the Windows user who first installed Google Play Games can open it and play. Sign in to that Windows account when using the client.
Can you switch between Google Accounts on PC?
Google Play Games version 25.3.341.12 or later lets you add up to five Google Accounts. Click the profile image and use the account-addition option to sign in to another account. Click the profile image again and select the desired account before launching the game. Supervised accounts cannot add multiple accounts.
