Copy your Facebook profile URL on a computer
Log into Facebook, then click your profile picture and name in the top left to open your profile. Select the complete address in your browser’s address bar and copy it. Check that you have opened the profile itself before copying, rather than a post, photo or settings screen.
In Chrome on Windows or Linux, press Ctrl + L, Alt + D or F6 to select the address, then press Ctrl + C. On Mac, press Command + L, then Command + C. On Chromebook, press Ctrl + L or Alt + D, then Ctrl + C.
If your profile has no custom username, copy the whole address exactly as it appears in the address bar. You do not need to create a username to copy your profile link.
Find another person’s profile or a Facebook Page
Enter the person’s or Page’s name in Facebook’s search box, click Search, then open the intended result. Copy the complete address from the browser’s address bar after the destination opens. If you copied a search results address, open the intended result and copy again.
For a Page with a username, look directly below its name for a handle such as @JaspersMarket. You can use that handle in the username address format below, leaving out @. Use the exact username, not a guess based on the Page’s display name, and open the resulting address to confirm the correct Page loads.
Copy a Facebook URL on your phone or tablet
Open m.facebook.com in your phone or tablet browser. Tap Search, enter the person’s or Page’s name, and open the correct result. Touch and hold the browser’s address bar, then tap Copy.
This method works in browsers on Android, iPhone and iPad without installing or updating Facebook. If you cannot find a copy option in the Facebook app, open the destination in your browser and copy its address there.
In Facebook Lite or mobile web, tap Search, enter the profile or Page name, and open the correct result. Tap Options below the cover photo, then tap Copy Link to Profile. If your interface does not offer that control, use the browser address bar.
Find your username and use it as a link
To build an address from an existing username, use https://www.facebook.com/USERNAME. Replace USERNAME with the exact username and omit a leading @. Open the address in a browser, confirm the intended profile or Page loads, then copy it.
On desktop Facebook, click your profile picture and open Settings & privacy > Settings > Accounts Center > Profiles. Select your Facebook profile, then choose Username to read the existing value. Changing your username changes your Facebook and Messenger profile URLs and, if your Facebook and Instagram profile information is synced, your Instagram profile URL; you may not be able to reclaim your old username, so copy your existing profile URL if you only need a link. If you deliberately want to change your username, enter a replacement and click Done.
On Android, Facebook Lite or mobile web, open Menu > Settings & privacy > Settings > Accounts Center > Profiles. Select your Facebook profile and open Username. Meta says Accounts Center is gradually becoming Meta Account settings, so copy your profile’s browser address if your navigation differs.
On iPhone or iPad, Meta directs you to Menu > Settings & privacy > Settings > Personal and account information. Tap Back, open Profiles and personal details, select your Facebook profile, and choose Username. Reading the username does not require changing it.
In Messenger, start from Chats and tap Menu > Settings > See more in Accounts Center > Profiles. Select your Facebook profile and open Username, then use that value in the Facebook address format. This route requires a corresponding Facebook profile and may not yet appear on every account.
Find the username for a Page you manage
To inspect your Page’s username on a computer, click your profile photo, choose See all profiles, and select the Page. Click the Page profile picture, then open Settings & Privacy > Settings > Page setup > Name. Under General Page Settings, inspect Username.
To create or change it, click Edit, enter the username, and click Save changes. Open the Page again and copy its URL, replacing saved copies of the old address if you changed it. Meta requires a computer and the appropriate Facebook access for Page username changes; task access does not qualify.
Fix links that paste as a page title
In Microsoft Edge, open the profile or Page, right-click the address bar, and select Copy, or select the address and press Ctrl + C. If it pastes as a linked page title, press Ctrl + Shift + V to paste the address itself. Alternatively, right-click the destination in Edge and choose Paste as > Plain text; the receiving application also affects paste behavior.
To make plain text the default in Edge, open Settings and more > Settings > Appearance > Browser behavior and features > URL formatting. Choose Change URL copy and paste format, select Plain text, then copy the Facebook address again.
Recover a Facebook URL you already saved
To open Chrome history, press Ctrl + H on Windows or Linux, or Command + Y on Mac. For bookmarks, press Ctrl + Shift + O on Windows or Linux, or Command + Option + B on Mac. Open the saved profile or Page entry, then copy its current address.
In Safari on iPhone, open the start page and tap Show Bookmarks; the top and bottom tab layouts also provide that button. Open your saved Facebook bookmark, then copy the browser address. You can also touch and hold a bookmark to access copying actions, but saved links can become stale after username changes.
In Windows 11, press Windows + V and select a retained URL entry to paste it. If clipboard history is disabled, select Turn on to retain future entries. Turning it on cannot recover an earlier URL that was never retained.
Move a Facebook link between devices
To use Universal Clipboard, keep your compatible Apple devices nearby, signed into the same Apple Account, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Handoff enabled. Copy the Facebook URL on one device, then paste it on the other before the shared clipboard is replaced.
To move the open Safari page with Handoff, first enable it on both devices. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity or AirPlay & Handoff, then enable Handoff. On Mac, open System Settings > General > AirDrop & Continuity or AirDrop & Handoff, then enable Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.
Keep the devices nearby, using the same Apple Account, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and keep the sending device unlocked with the Facebook page open in Safari in the foreground. On the receiving Mac or iPad, select the Handoff icon in the Dock; on iPhone, select the app banner in the App Switcher. Copy the address on the receiving device.
In desktop Chrome, open More > Cast, save, and share > Send to your devices. On Android, open More > Share > Send to your devices. With the same Google Account signed in on both devices, select the receiving device, open the received tab, and copy its address.
Copy the address using voice controls
On Windows 11 version 22H2 or later, open Settings > Accessibility > Speech and enable Voice access. Once configured, open the Facebook profile or Page in Chrome and say Press Control L, then Press Control C. These voice commands select and copy the browser address.
With iPhone Voice Control already configured, ask Siri Turn on Voice Control and open the profile or Page in a browser. Say Show numbers, then Long press followed by the address field’s number. When Copy appears, say Tap Copy, refreshing the number overlay as needed.
On a compatible Android device, get Google Voice Access if needed, confirm the developer is Google LLC, and tap Install. In Settings > Accessibility > Voice Access, turn on Voice Access shortcut on version 17.0 or later, or Use Voice Access on earlier versions. Tap the floating shortcut button or your configured shortcut on newer versions, or open the Voice Access app on earlier versions, to start listening before opening the destination in Chrome. Say Show numbers, then Tap followed by the address field’s number. With the URL editable, say Select all text, then Copy.
Each voice method requires a language supported by that device’s voice control feature. If you cannot use the commands in your language, use the browser’s address selection and copy controls directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does sharing my Facebook URL let everyone see my profile?
Sharing a URL does not change who can view the destination. If you meant to change privacy instead, see how to lock your Facebook profile.
How do I get a Facebook URL from an existing QR code?
On iPhone or iPad, open Camera, or open Control Center and tap Scan Code, then point at the code and tap the detected link. If the intended Facebook profile or Page opens in a browser, copy its address. To add the scanner control, open Control Center, touch and hold the background, and choose Add a Control > Scan Code. The code must contain the Facebook destination URL; a Messenger sharing QR code opens a Messenger conversation.
Is a Facebook Page ID the same as its URL?
No, a Page ID is an identifier, not a complete web address. You can find it under the Page name through Transparency and privacy policy, but use the open Page’s browser address when you need a shareable URL.
Can I sync a copied Facebook URL between Windows computers?
Yes, you can sync clipboard text using the same Microsoft or work account on both computers. Open Start > Settings > System > Clipboard, turn on Clipboard history across your devices, and select Automatically sync text that I copy. Copy the URL, then retrieve its retained entry on the other computer with Windows + V.
