Nintendo's rebuilt version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is available today, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The digital version costs $59.99 on the Nintendo eShop, and Nintendo's store also lists a physical edition.
This is not a simple port of the 1998 Nintendo 64 game. Nintendo says it was built from the ground up for Switch 2, with overhauled visuals, orchestral music, voice acting and expanded cutscenes. The story stays the same: Ganondorf is after the Triforce, and Link has to become the Hero of Time to stop him.
The controls and camera have been modernized too, and Nintendo is pitching the remake as a good starting point for newcomers to the series.
The most fun new touch may be the ocarina itself. You can play it with the buttons, by humming, or by playing a real instrument into the Switch 2 microphone.
What else comes with the launch
- Display and sound: HDR and VRR output on compatible TVs, plus surround sound.

- Nintendo Music: select symphonic tracks from the game are now on the app, which requires Nintendo Switch Online.
