Shark has added two stick vacuums with corded power, each weighing less than 10 pounds and converting into a handheld cleaner for jobs away from the floor. The Shark® Rocket® Turbo Corded Stick Vacuum is available for $199.99 in Navy, while the Shark Detect™ + Reveal Corded Stick Vacuum costs $249.99 and comes in Storm. Both models are designed to clean hard floors and carpets, with brushrolls that clean themselves as they work.
The $50 step up to the Shark Detect™ + Reveal Corded Stick Vacuum buys movement detection and a light intended to make otherwise hard-to-see debris visible. Shark says its Direction Detect feature senses whether the vacuum is moving backward or forward, then adjusts suction for each direction. Reveal Technology projects blue LED light at an angle to help users spot dust and debris that might escape their eyes during cleaning.
The Shark® Rocket® Turbo Corded Stick Vacuum focuses on everyday dirt and pet hair, using a self-cleaning Turbo brushroll to pick up debris. Shark says Anti-Hair Wrap Technology clears hair from that brushroll while the vacuum runs, removing the need for users to cut off tangled strands. For cleaning beyond the floor nozzle, this model comes with a Pet Multi-Tool for furniture and upholstery and a Crevice Tool for confined spaces.
The Shark Detect™ + Reveal Corded Stick Vacuum also has a brushroll that cleans itself, which Shark says helps stop hair from wrapping around it. Its detachable handheld unit weighs less than three pounds, giving users a lighter part of the vacuum to carry for smaller jobs. This model includes a Pet Multi-Tool as well, but pairs it with a Pet Crevice Tool among its supplied cleaning attachments.
Both vacuums let users detach the handheld section to clean stairs, furniture or the inside of a car rather than maneuvering the complete appliance. Their floor nozzles have a slim profile intended to reach underneath furniture during cleaning. For storage, the detached handheld section clips onto the wand's base, allowing each vacuum to stand on its own in a compact arrangement.
