Samsung will break from its traditional launch locations by hosting its next major product event in London this July, according to Korean media reports that reveal both date and venue details for what could be the company's most aggressive foldable phone push yet.

The Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for July 22, marking a departure from Samsung's usual practice of holding major launches in South Korea or the United States. Korea Economic TV reports that London serves as an important base for Samsung's European operations, making it a strategic choice for expanding regional visibility.

Three new foldable devices are expected to debut: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a rumored Galaxy Z Wide Fold model designed specifically to challenge Apple's anticipated entry into the foldable market later this year.

This three-device approach represents a expansion from Samsung's typical two-model foldable lineup. The Wide Fold model reportedly measures 0.5mm thinner than competing devices while reintroducing S Pen support, features aimed directly at productivity-focused users who might otherwise consider Apple's offering. Samsung appears to be positioning this device as its primary competitor against what could be the first folding iPhone.

London's selection as host city follows adjustments to Samsung's product calendar caused by delays to the Galaxy S26 launch earlier this year. The July timing matches Samsung's established pattern for foldable device announcements but arrives slightly later than previous years' summer unveilings.

For the Galaxy Z Fold 8, expectations center on battery capacity improvements and faster charging capabilities rather than dramatic design changes. The device will likely build upon last year's significant redesign with incremental performance upgrades.

Similarly, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is rumored to receive modest refinements rather than major overhauls, maintaining its compact form factor while potentially adding small updates to its existing design language.

Details about a potential successor to last year's budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE remain scarce, suggesting Samsung may prioritize its premium foldable offerings for this mid-year launch cycle. The London event will provide attendees with hands-on access to all three devices through product demonstrations and official photography sessions ahead of broader consumer availability.
