Samsung opens Galaxy Z TriFold demos at seven US stores starting January 23, giving consumers their first hands-on experience with the $2,500+ tri-fold device ahead of its official launch.

The limited demos arrive at Samsung Experience Stores in California, Texas, New York, and Minnesota following the device's CES 2026 showcase earlier this month. Customers can test hardware functionality and Galaxy AI features, though Samsung hasn't announced exact US pricing or availability dates beyond a Q1 2026 window.

Samsung's tri-fold transforms from a 6.5-inch smartphone to a 10-inch tablet through a U-style hinge design that protects the inner display. The device weighs 309 grams and carries a 5,600mAh battery with camera hardware that matches the Galaxy Z Fold 7, according to hands-on reviews.

The Galaxy Z TriFold currently sells in South Korea and UAE markets at $2,500-$3,200 equivalent pricing. US estimates suggest $2,600-$3,000 positioning, placing it nearly $1,000 above the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which starts at $1,999 but can be found discounted to $1,649.

Samsung's design differs from Huawei's Mate XT tri-fold, which exposes its inner display. The U-style hinge provides better durability, according to hands-on testing by Android Central, though it prevents the book-style folding mode available on Huawei's competitor.

The 10-inch AMOLED panel delivers tablet-sized productivity with Samsung's multitasking software optimized for the expanded screen real estate. Early CES 2026 demonstrations showed Google Maps navigation and content streaming capabilities benefiting from the larger display.

Seven participating stores include Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, California; The Americana at Brand in Glendale, California; Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota; Queens Center in Elmhurst, New York; Roosevelt Field in Garden City, New York; Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, Texas; and The Galleria in Houston, Texas.

Samsung positions the Galaxy Z TriFold as a halo product with limited quantities, targeting tech enthusiasts willing to pay premium pricing for cutting-edge foldable technology. The company plans wider US availability details through its official newsroom channels in coming weeks.
