Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra as the Ultra-tier foldable in its new Galaxy Z series, with pre-orders open in select markets starting July 22, 2026. Samsung positions the model for maximum productivity and content creation on a larger workspace.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra pairs an 8.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen at 2,504 x 2,256 and 422ppi with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display at 1,080 x 2,520 and 422ppi. Both panels support a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz plus Vision Booster.
Samsung says the expansive main display opens a productive multitasking workspace.
Unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra measures 143.2 x 158.4 x 4.1 mm and weighs 215 g. Folded dimensions are 72.8 x 158.4 x 8.9 mm.
Samsung describes the 4.1 mm unfolded thickness as its slimmest Z Fold design yet. Across the new Galaxy Z series, Flex Titanium adds a titanium-based display structure meant to help keep foldables thinner while maintaining durability.
Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, a 5,000 mAh dual battery, dual-path 45W fast charging, and an expanded graphite cooling structure. Samsung says the larger battery supports a full day of work, creation, and entertainment, while the cooling system helps the device stay responsive during demanding multitasking, content creation, and AI workflows.
Memory and storage options for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra include 16 GB with 1 TB, 12 GB with 512 GB, and 12 GB with 256 GB, with availability varying by market or channel.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra camera stack includes a 200 MP wide-angle main sensor with HDR in 200 MP mode, a 50 MP ultra-wide, a 10 MP telephoto with 3X optical zoom, plus 10 MP cover and under-display cameras. Samsung highlights improved Nightography, 8K video via the APV codec, and Cine LUT color tools for creators.
Colors are Graphite and Cream, with Violet Shadow exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Green Shadow listed as an online exclusive.
Samsung Knox secures the device from the chip up, with on-device personalization, user-controlled cloud processing, and KEEP encrypted storage on One UI 8 or later. As of July 2026, Share with Apple devices is supported on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Now Nudge can surface next steps from conversations, with text message prompts available in Samsung Messages and certain third-party apps including Google Messages and Google Chat.
