Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Is Getting a Deep Burgundy Finish, Case Leaks Show Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will launch in a dark burgundy colorway, according to leaked images of the company's official cases. The deep purple shade, confirmed through transparent case renders published by Android Headlines, gives the premium foldable a finish that reads more like a luxury accessory than a standard smartphone. The case leaks, which cover all three devices in Samsung's upcoming foldable lineup, reveal a distinct color split across the models.

The Fold 8 Ultra gets Violet Shadow and Green Shadow as its exclusive finishes, alongside Cream and Graphite baseline options. The wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 (the standard model) will reportedly ship in lavender, white/silver, and black/gray. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 rounds out the family with pink, white/silver, and black/gray.

Earlier leaks from Digital Citizen had pointed to "Violet Shadow" and "Green Shadow" as the Fold 8 Ultra's exclusive finishes, and those names have since been corroborated by GSMArena, Forbes, and 9to5Google. The dark purple seen in case renders is the Violet Shadow finish showing through transparent cases.

All three foldables share Cream and Graphite as baseline colors, according to reports from GSMArena, 9to5Google, and Android Authority. But the Ultra's burgundy option is the standout, a restrained premium hue that sets it apart from the softer pastel tones assigned to the standard Fold 8 and Flip 8.

Storage configurations are also leaking consistently. The Fold 8 Ultra and standard Fold 8 will offer 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB tiers, while the Flip 8 tops out at 512GB.

Samsung is not restricting any colors to specific storage configurations. The Fold 8 Ultra also packs a 3,600-nit peak brightness on its inner display, a significant jump over previous generations, though competitors like the Honor Magic V6 and Motorola Razr Fold have pushed past 5,000 nits. The Ultra retains a 3x zoom lens first introduced in 2022, missing the chance for a 5x upgrade.

Both Fold 8 models are expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 globally, with the Exynos 2600 reserved for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Samsung's summer Unpacked event is expected July 22 in London, where the Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, Flip 8, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and Galaxy Watch 9 are all anticipated to debut.
