Samsung's latest wireless earbuds deliver premium audio upgrades without raising prices, challenging Sony and Apple's high-end offerings at more accessible price points. The Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro debuted at Samsung's Unpacked event earlier today, featuring redesigned driver systems that promise clearer sound reproduction.

Both models maintain their predecessors' pricing at $179 for the standard version and $249 for the Pro variant, shipping to customers on March 11.

Audio quality improvements center on a revised dual-driver configuration that provides 20% more surface area in the Pro model's woofer-tweeter setup. This expanded driver design aims to deliver more balanced frequency response across music genres while reducing distortion at higher volumes.

Samsung continues supporting its proprietary SSC UHQ codec for lossless audio transmission between compatible Galaxy devices. The codec enables 24-bit/96kHz playback that matches high-resolution streaming services' maximum quality tiers.

Retailers have already launched pre-order incentives ahead of next month's availability. Best Buy offers a $30 gift card with Buds 4 Pro purchases, while Amazon provides similar bonuses through its Prime membership program.

Customers planning Galaxy S26 smartphone purchases can combine both devices for additional savings. Amazon's bundle deal includes a $100 gift card with S26 pre-orders that can be applied toward earbud purchases, effectively reducing the Buds 4 Pro price to $149 when purchased together.

The new models retain head gesture controls introduced in previous generations, allowing users to answer or decline calls through simple head movements. Live interpreter functionality supports multiple languages directly through the earbuds' microphone system.

Samsung's pricing strategy positions its premium audio products below competing offerings from Sony and Bose. The $249 Buds 4 Pro undercuts Sony's WF-1000XM6 by $80 while matching Apple's AirPods Pro 3 retail price.

Both earbud variants feature updated active noise cancellation algorithms designed to block environmental sounds more effectively than their predecessors. Battery life specifications remain consistent with previous models, providing up to eight hours of continuous playback per charge cycle.

Pre-orders continue through March 10 across Samsung's official storefront and participating retailers including Best Buy, Amazon, and T-Mobile.
