Samsung slashed $250 from its Galaxy S25 Ultra flagship this week, dropping the base model to $1,049.99 as 2025 ends. The discount applies to all storage configurations and colors without trade-in requirements, according to Droid Life.

The company simultaneously cut $300 from its ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge, bringing the 256GB model to $799. Both discounts represent Samsung's year-end clearance ahead of expected Galaxy S26 series launches in early 2026.

Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra delivered more than 18.5 hours of battery life in TechRadar testing earlier this year, outperforming Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max. The phone features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and supports seven years of OS and security updates.

The Galaxy S25 Edge measures just 5.8mm thick with a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display. Its 3,900mAh battery supports 25W wired charging, smaller than typical 2025 flagships but sufficient for conservative daily use, according to Android Police.

Recent reports suggest Samsung may ditch the S26 Edge in favor of a traditional Galaxy S26+ model for 2026. This makes the discounted S25 Edge potentially the last ultra-thin Samsung phone available.

In India, Flipkart offers the Galaxy S25 Ultra at Rs 1,07,899, a 17% reduction from its Rs 1,25,999 launch price. Bank card holders receive additional Rs 4,000 discounts, bringing the effective price to Rs 1,03,899.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra's camera system includes a 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization, complemented by 50MP periscope and ultra-wide lenses. Samsung's Galaxy AI features distinguish the device from competitors using similar Snapdragon silicon.

Trade-in values have declined from earlier promotions, with only Galaxy S24 Ultra devices qualifying for $700 discounts. Most customers now benefit more from direct cash discounts than trade-in programs.

Samsung's year-end discounts follow competitive pressure from OnePlus, whose OnePlus 15 achieved perfect review scores with 26.5-hour battery life using solid-state technology. The Galaxy S25 Ultra remains Samsung's most durable current phone, with water resistance extending to its S Pen silo.

Industry analysts note the timing aligns with typical pre-launch inventory clearance. Samsung typically announces new Galaxy S series devices in February, with March availability for most markets.
