Mistral AI has raised €3 billion in a Series D funding round, pushing its post-money valuation past €21 billion. The round is led by Samsung Electronics, with Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, and PSG Equity as co-leads. The announcement comes three years after the company was founded.
The company says the fresh capital will go toward expanding frontier research, compute capacity, infrastructure, and commercial growth. Mistral operates across 20 countries and says it supports mission-critical AI transformation for more than 125 global enterprises, including Airbus, ASML, and HSBC. New investors include Advent, funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, while existing backers such as a16z, ASML, NVIDIA, and Salesforce Ventures also participated.

Mistral describes itself as the only full-stack AI company, offering open-weight models, infrastructure, compute, and products. The company says its sovereign approach keeps data inside the organization, with models that customers can control, compute that stays private, and systems that can be audited. Investors come from Europe, Asia, and North America.
The company did not provide a breakdown of how the funds will be used, nor did it disclose revenue or profitability figures. It also did not give a timeline for deploying the capital. Mistral's Series C was led by ASML, which also joined the new round.
This funding follows Mistral's August announcement about in-region inference, open models, and new European infrastructure for sovereign AI. Earlier this year, the company also introduced Voxtral TTS, a text-to-speech model.
