Google Sheets is adding High-Low-Close (HLC) and Open-High-Low-Close (OHLC) stock charts, giving users a way to display several prices together for each trading period. Google says the update also keeps those chart types intact when spreadsheets move between Microsoft Excel and Sheets.

The rollout for Rapid Release domains began October 5, 2026, while Scheduled Release domains are scheduled to begin receiving the feature on October 22, 2026. Each rollout can take up to 15 days to reach users, and eligibility includes every Google Workspace customer and anyone with a personal Google account.

High-Low-Close (HLC) charts combine a period’s peak, trough and closing price in one marker, showing the range alongside the final price. Open-High-Low-Close (OHLC) adds the opening price, allowing users to see whether trading ended above or below that starting point.

Previously, Sheets discarded stock charts during Excel imports, leaving analysts to recreate them; the new support removes that rebuilding step for HLC and OHLC charts, according to Google. Users can create and customize both types for work such as monitoring equities or commodities and constructing valuation models from past prices, with no administrator control for the feature.

The chart update follows a manual calculation option whose rollout began September 21, letting Sheets users choose when formulas and references recalculate. Google also raised the spreadsheet ceiling from 10 million to 20 million cells in September, including for existing files and imported workbooks.
