An analysis of Apple's September event history points to September 9 as a leading candidate for the iPhone 18 Pro launch. The calendar-based forecast is not an announcement from Apple.
Apple has generally held its September iPhone events between September 7 and September 14 since 2012. The major exception was 2020, when the pandemic-delayed iPhone 12 event moved to October.
Labor Day falls on September 7 this year. In 2015, when the holiday landed on the same date, Apple held its event on Wednesday, September 9. That history makes September 9 a reasonable prediction, but September 8 and other nearby dates remain possible until Apple sends invitations.
If Apple follows its familiar schedule after the event, preorders could begin Friday, September 11, followed by availability on Friday, September 18. Those dates are projections based on past launches, not confirmed dates.
Reports also suggest Apple may split the iPhone 18 release cycle, with Pro models arriving in the fall and standard models following later. Apple has not confirmed the event date, product lineup, pricing, or specifications.
