ASUS says its ROG XBOX Ally X20 gaming handheld is available today for $1,299, combining a 7.4-inch OLED screen with an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. Buyers can also choose a $2,499 package with ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a custom dbrand Killswitch case and a Pelican Protector Case.
The handheld costs $300 more than the ROG XBOX Ally X, which remains on sale for $999, while the ROG XBOX Ally stays at $599. ASUS has given the anniversary model a translucent black shell that exposes parts of its gold-colored internal structure, marking two decades since Republic of Gamers began in 2006.

The earlier Computex unveiling presented the device as exclusive to a bundle with AR glasses, with pricing and availability still unresolved. That presentation also specified a 120Hz OLED panel reaching 1,400 nits at peak brightness, alongside 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage.
The new controls include magnetic TMR joystick sensors, which ASUS says reduce drift risk, and a D-pad that changes between four-way and eight-way operation without tools. The face buttons require less force to press and finish level with the shell when depressed, while rubberized grips and impulse triggers add grip and haptic feedback.
ASUS says redesigned fans increase airflow by 20%, while the heatsink has 11% more fin surface area. Cooling directs air toward the processor, the heatsink and the area behind the OLED panel. Variable refresh rate support adjusts screen timing to game performance to reduce tearing.
The bundled glasses produce a virtual image measuring 171 inches at a viewing distance of four meters, with a Micro-OLED panel running at 240Hz. Head tracking lets the image move with the wearer, while Anchor Mode holds it in a fixed position during play.
Software changes include Travel Mode, which caps charging at 65W and activates with Airplane Mode or through manual selection; ASUS says this improves compatibility with seat power on trains and aircraft. Default Game Profile 2.0 lets players save adjusted power settings for individual games, and owners across the ROG Ally family can remap the Command Center, Library and Action buttons.
