Apple will open iPhone Duo preorders on Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. PT through its website and Apple Store app, with a folding inner screen measuring 7.58 inches diagonally as a rectangle. Apple Upgrade, provided by Klarna, offers a 24-month lease starting at $57.99 per month, excluding taxes and any trade-in credit. Customers can also choose a 12-month lease, with eligible customers able to buy, return or upgrade the phone when their lease ends.
At its September unveiling, Apple set iPhone Duo's starting U.S. price at $1,999 and detailed storage capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB. That launch also introduced support for placing two apps beside one another, including two windows from a single app. Apple's October 6 developer update set October 23 as the date customers could get the phone.

Apple says the inner screen provides 50 percent more display area than iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the closed phone's 5.4-inch outer screen offers 90 percent of iPhone 18 Pro's screen area. The precise rectangular measurement for the outer screen is 5.36 inches, and rounded corners reduce the viewable area on both displays. The phone uses A20 Pro and two batteries, with Apple claiming enough power for all-day use.
Apple Trade In offers $175 to $885 in instant credit for an eligible iPhone 13 or newer. Carrier offers through Apple provide up to $1,200 in credit with an eligible iPhone 14 Pro Max or newer, with activation available through Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile. U.S. Apple Card customers can choose Apple Card Monthly Installments at 0 percent APR and receive 3 percent Daily Cash upfront.
Split View supports multitasking, while iOS adjusts content as users fold, turn or flip iPhone Duo. StandBy works on either screen even without charging, allowing the phone to display widgets, photos or a clock. Apple says Siri AI will launch as an English-language beta with iOS 27, and users can leave it open beside an app to ask about onscreen content.
Photography hardware includes a 48MP Fusion Main camera with a 2x Telephoto that Apple calls optical-quality and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera that supports macro shots. A FaceTime camera sits beneath the inner screen for calls with the phone open or resting on a surface. iPhone Duo carries an IP68 resistance rating and comes in night sky or star white.
