Where Winds Meet brings its Hutuo anniversary update to Xbox Series X|S on November 13 (PT), adding a campaign built around the Battle of Zhongdu Bridge. The Xbox Wire announcement lists gifts valued at more than $150, including a free outfit choice.
Hutuo explores the aftermath of a conflict lasting sixteen years. Its story follows the tension between serving the throne and defending ordinary people. Side quests introduce soldiers resisting harsh orders, families displaced by fighting and villagers giving refugees shelter.
Boss encounters include Xiao Han, whose Blood-forged Super Armor calls for parries and counters that break his stance. Yelu Abuli uses ceremonial fire, while Bingshen combines fast approaches with attacks covering a wide area.
Dual Spears is another upcoming addition. Action director Yuen Woo-ping handled its motion capture and fight choreography. The martial art lets players use the Dual-Weapon Skill during a combo to move between quick thrusts and heavier downward blows, maintaining attacks without resetting their frames.
The update also introduces Horse Racing Chess and Jianghu Tactics. In Horse Racing Chess, players become board pieces, roll dice and use Mystic Skills while competing to finish first. Jianghu Tactics puts Heroic Spirit characters on a board, with positioning, equipment distribution and character bonds shaping its strategy.
Logging in lets players select a free Outfit Set from 12 styles, valued at 2,580 Echo Beads. Anniversary events also offer 42 draws using Resonating Melody and 27 using Lingering Melody. These rewards sit alongside Xbox features including Smart Delivery, HDR and AMD FSR 2 upscaling.
The Xbox interface uses larger lettering. Series X upscales from 1080p to 4K, while Series S upscales from 900p to 2K.
